The history of humans playing games is as vast as the history of humans itself, for the two are intertwined. While the history of humans goes back to sixty-five million of years ago, the history of games dates back to the Egyptian Empire five thousand years ago. The games that the Egyptians played determined the fate of both citizens and kings in magical ceremonies. The Egyptians called these games "The Games of Darkness".
