Every morning as I wait for the bus to come pick me up to take me to school, there's this thought that I always have in my head, and that is this: "I hope something fun will happen today!" The bus then arrived, and I got on. The bus was more crowded than usual this morning, and as I squeezed in, I saw someone from my class. His name was Tomoya Hanasaki, and he is just about as quiet as me. I called out to him, but it was so crowded that he didn't see me. Then the bus stopped suddenly, and I lost my balance. I then realized that I was at the back of the bus, and it was basically empty. Then I heard some loud music coming from behind me, and I covered my ears. I didn't know who was playing the music until I turned around. It was Souzouji Sogoma from Class 1-C! He was the one who was playing the music. I then started to walk away from him.
"Hold it right there Yugi!!" said Souzouji.
I then froze for three seconds.
"Hey! The seat that's next to me is open!" said Souzouji, smacking the seat next to him. "Take a seat!"
I then sat down next to him.
"There's something that I wanted to talk to you about, Yugi!" said Souzouji. "It's almost time for another one of my super famous 'All Night Solo Live Shows!' I'm guessing that you've missed my beautiful voice, am I right?"
I knew that this was a bad thing, because I've been at two of those shows, and they were annoying! Even some of the past participants think so too. And here's the worst part of it all: Souzouji wants me to sell ten tickets for the show!
"The cost is 2,000 yen each," said Souzouji, "but hearing me sing is cheap! Be sure you try to get a six to four ratio of girls to boys!" He then handed me the tickets, and told me that the show was in three days. He even said that if I don't sell the tickets that he would punish me.
As soon as I reached school, I was thinking something different: "I hope something fun will happen someday."
In the classroom, I was at my desk when Katsuya came in. He saw that I looked upset, so he asked me what was wrong.
"It's nothing," I said.
"By the way," said Katsuya, "I did look into it, but it looks like there isn't a star at this school."
I was shocked to hear that Katsuya hadn't given up on finding a star in this school. But he then told me that HE was going to be the first star from the school.
I then continued to think about the tickets I was supposed to sell for Souzouji. Katsuya knew that something was bothering me, but I told him that nothing was bothering me. I didn't want to tell Katsuya about what Souzouji is making me do, because if I did, Katsuya would pick a fight with him. I didn't even want to let Anzu in on Souzouji's terrible voice, or even Hiroto! There's no way I want to make my friends suffer by hearing Souzouji sing. And I knew that if I didn't sell any tickets that I'd get punished. So it seemed like I would just go home with the tickets still in my pocket. Then I saw Tomoya. I reached into my pocket, and started to pull out a ticket, then shoved it back in. I wasn't really Tomoya's friend, and I haven't talked to him that much. I then said goodbye to him.
"Hey Yugi," said Tomoya, "I'm sorry for bugging you, but could you buy this ticket from me?" He then held up a ticket.
Tomoya doesn't know that I'm selling tickets too, I thought to myself.
"Do you know Souzouji Sogoma from Class 1-C?" asked Tomoya. "These are tickets to one of his shows."
"Really?" I asked. I had no idea why Tomoya was telling this, or why I was getting so nervous.
"It would really help me out if you could buy one," said Tomoya. "The truth is that I have five tickets, and I just can't sell one."
I had five more tickets than Tomoya. I then asked him if he was going to the Live Show.
"If I tell you, you might not want to buy one," said Tomoya, "but I'm not interested in going to it."
I didn't want to go either, and I didn't have any money in my pocket, so I told Tomoya to hand me the tickets so I could sell them.
"Are you sure that it's okay Yugi?" asked Tomoya.
"Of course," I said. "Because if you don't want to go Tomoya, then you don't have to."
"Thanks Yugi!" said Tomoya as he gave me the tickets. "See you later."
I then left the school with fifteen tickets in my pocket.
Tomoya had always thought that I was kind of gloomy, but I wasn't. I just keep my head in some game. Then Souzouji appeared. He saw what Tomoya and I did, and he wasn't happy about it. He thought that Tomoya took the easy way out, but I was just trying to help Tomoya.
Three days later, at the Karaoke Room, Souzouji couldn't believe that I didn't sell any tickets. It was because no one wanted to buy one. But I told him that I would listen to his songs all night. Souzouji then gave me a pair of headphones to use, and plugged them in. Then he turned the volume to max, and began his music. Man that music almost blew out my ears! I can't stand Heavy Metal music! Once the song was done, Souzouji then pulled back a curtain, and behind it was Tomoya! He was being punished for trying to sell a ticket to me. I was now mad.
"Why would you do this to my friend Tomoya?!" I asked angrily. "I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU SOUZOUJI!" When I said that, I had changed both my appearance and voice. I even yanked out the headphone jack.
Souzouji was shocked. "Hey hey hey!" he said. "What's that look supposed to mean?! You got something to say to me?"
"Souzouji, I have a question to ask you," I said. "Are you a coward?!"
"What?!" asked Souzouji.
"Because if you aren't, then don't you try to escape from the little game that I'm going to start!"
"A game?!"
"The game is called 'THE SILENCE GAME'!" I then went to get something called a Sound Pierrot (Pierrot is French for clown), two of them to be exact. I then placed one in front of Souzouji, and one in front of me. I then explained the rules, and the game began.
Souzouji didn't like being silent. He knew that the karaoke room was supposed to ring with songs being sung. He even wanted to give me a Penalty Game by playing his "One Hundred Melodies of Death". Then he saw that the headphone jack was on the edge of a glass. He knew that if it fell over, it would make a noise so my Pierrot would start dancing. But the jack didn't fall, and his Pierrot started to dance. He had no idea what was making the Pierrot dance.
"It's the sound of your heart that's making it dance!" I said.
Souzouji couldn't believe that the speaker was making heartbeats. Then he realized that he had put the microphone's volume to max.
"Your habit of holding onto the microphone, no matter how much it annoys people, has done you in!" I said. "You lose, Souzouji!" I then gave him a Penalty Game, where his heartbeat got louder. Then Tomoya and I left the Karaoke Room.
