three.
"I don't believe in God, but I'm a hypocrite. Most nights, I pray." Marcus said to himself as he watched the city lights over 300 meters from the void.
"A track running in the background. I pray for a way out," he thought, his face torn with pain.
Marcus looked at his feet, they were so close to the void, he'd never been so close to death. One false step and it was all over.
"I pray for help." The boy mused one last time.
"What are you waiting for?"
"Jesus Christ!"
Marcus gasped in surprise. He turned around briefly and face the blue-eyed girl. She was standing a few meters aways from him, but had been so quiet that he hadn't even heard her arrive.
Well, apparently Heather had to rethink her entrance. It's true that saying such a thing to a boy about to jump off a cliff wasn't very clever of her.
It was as if she were deliberately pushing him into the arms of death, which was happily waiting for him. But that wasn't her mission.
Although, his death wouldn't pain her in the least.
The mission Master Lin had given her was an easy one : to bring the boy back safe and sound.
He'd made his last two points abundantly clear.
Heather was going to have to take off her sarcastic air and be a little more sympathetic, at least she was going to try. She didn't have much choice in the matter, since she always succeeded in her missions to perfection.
No matter what the cost.
"The view is beautiful from here," she said as she stepped towards the boy, admiring in turn the spectacle before them. It was a shame to die in the face of such beauty.
The first time Marcus had seen this girl, it had been in this gloomy room, hidden in the dark. The boy didn't really know if he'd seen her before that. He would have remembered, though?
