Adeline PoV

I really missed going to the races and afterwards to the cafeteria with Liz. She is so sweet and easy to talk to.

"So how are things going with Oscar?"
I asked her once we sat down with our coffee, the skittles already secured in my bag.

Liz looked down and then up at me again with a smile on her face and a slight blush on her cheeks.
"It's going very good, he took me out just w days ago and we went to this really fancy restaurant and I had the best time ever."

"Best time or like best time..."
I tried to hint where I was going by slightly widening my eyes and showing a light smirk.

"Addy!!" The girl in front of me exclaimed while blushing violently.

"What?! I'm just asking the most interesting questions here." I smiled at her.

"Well I gotta keep you guessin' at which "best" I mean but it was really good still..." Liz finished my question with a sip of her coffee.

"How about you though? What's with that boyfriend of yours?"

I didn't expect that question to be honest cause I kind of avoided it myself so I just said what I really think... kind of.
"He is doing good, I mean we are doing good."

Liz looked at me with an expression I can't quite place.

"That doesn't sound convinced at all Addy. You sure everything all right? You can tell me ya know."
She promised me with a soft voice as she took one of my hands in hers and stroked it gently.

"Yeah I know, I just- I think I'm being very dramatic now but our relationship isn't what it used to be. I don't know why but he's been distant and rarely calls me like he used to. He is busy filming one of his films, I know that but even while being on set and filming Euphoria he used to call and text me a lot. It's different this time." I rant while looking down at our hands and after some seconds looking up again.

Liz gave me a smile.
"First of all I do not think you are overreacting or whatever! When you feel like it's different you have all reasons to be worried. Maybe - and just hear me out because I know you don't like to confront people like this- but I think you should tell Jacob how you feel about the situation and his behaviour lately. It won't help, if you don't discuss this with him."

She was right, I know she was and I should definitely talk with Jacob about it. However I'm scared of how he will handle me asking 'bout it, he can be quiet...sensitiv sometimes and gets angry fast. But I guess to feel better and more relaxed I have to ask him anyway.
"I will talk with him. Thanks Liz, honestly." I say while still holding her hand.
"Oh but please don't tell anybody, not even Oscar!"

Liz chuckled.
"I won't, promise!"

As we went back after finishing our coffee and little talk I saw Lando and Oscar are already back in the launch room talking and probably joking around according to their body language.

"Wha's up Addy?" Oscar greeted me as his girlfriend ani came to a stop at the side of the two boys.

"Nothing much just stealing Liz from you as always. I still don't understand how you pulled her..."
I answered jokingly as Oscar looked offended by my statement highlighted by the hand he puts on the place where his heart is. The other boy ne t to me started chuckling and I couldn't help but look at him.

"Oh Lando I almost forgot..." I said while rummaging in my bag before I pull out the bag of skittles.

"Yessss thank you Lin, you are the best!" Lando snatches the bag from my hands, opening it and throwing some skittles in his mouth all after he gave me a quick side hug.
As I looked back at Liz and Oscar they shared a knowing look which I didn't get.

"What?" I ask Liz while smiling.

"Nothing Addy..." she whispered, laughing to herself.

We stood and talked for about 15 more minutes all while Lando picked his skittles out of the bag and happily munching on it. After a while my dad came up to me and told me to het ready so we can leave. I said my quick good byes to the three of them and went to grab my jacket as I heard Lando's voice call me.
"Lin wait up"

I turned around to see him jogging over to me.
"What's up Lani?"

As he reached me he said nothing in return just holding out his hand with his I assume empty skittles bag in it. I look down to it and then up at him again before taking it.

"Omg, thank you Lando for your empty- " but I couldn't end my sentence when I noticed that there were still some of the sweets left in the plastic bag. I peered inside and saw that all of the remaining candy has the colour purple.
"You did not!!" I exclaimed surprised shifting my now wide eyes back to his.
"You really don't have to do this every time you get skittles." I added as I picked one out of the back and into my mouth.

"Yes I do! You said the purples ones are your favourite."
Lando countered with a happy smile on his face, his eyes sparkling.

I chuckled. "That was like 10 years ago... but thank you Lani I really appreciate it."
I hugged him as he puts his arms around my shoulders and whispering:"You're very welcome Lin"

Maybe we stayed like that for a bit too long since I heard a throat clear behind me.
"You two do know that you'll see each other tomorrow again, right??" My dad asks jokingly as we part.

I take 2 steps backwards waving at Lando and thanking him again. Additionally telling him to get enough sleep before the race tomorrow to what he just said he will and hushed me away.
