Chapter-2

"Do you have any sense? Your only job is to drive me to the office and to make sure the car doesn't run into any kind of issue, but you can't even do that properly," I roared in anger. Today I have to discuss an important project with my staff, but here I am standing in the street because of my stupid driver. I told him to check it yesterday since it made some weird noises, but my amazing driver forgot to get it checked. "Do as I say" I commanded. "Get it checked and park it in the garage." He nodded his head. "Yes sir" he said in a faint voice. I started to walk towards my company and called my secretary Liam. As soon as he picked up he started to ask me tons of questions. "Liam" I said in a stern voice. He stopped midway and said yes sir. "My car has a mechanical issue, so send me a car." I said. "Yes sir" he replied.

A message popped into my phone, and I looked at it. It was Liam, updating me about the meeting. I was reading the message when someone bumped into me, and my phone fell from my hand. I turned to see who it was but before I could take a glance, she said sorry and started to run as if she was running for her life. I could not see her face but her long black hair, her long brown shrug and her casual white shoes were clearly visible. I looked at my phone. It was
helplessly lying on the ground. I picked it up and turned to see the display. It had dozens of cracks and nothing was visible. "Another idiot," I murmured, tightly gripping my phone. I have been losing my mind since morning.

The car arrived and within five minutes I reached my office. "Is everything ready?" I asked Liam who was walking beside me. "Yes sir. Everything is set" he replied. I opened the door and entered the meeting room. Everyone greeted me and I nodded in response. The meeting started and I explained about the upcoming project. "Next week we have to present our project that we have been working on for a month. As you all know not only us, but the top 10 companies will also present their ideas. We have been in the first position for the past 3 years, so if we get this project, it will be a milestone in our success. So, make sure you do it perfectly. I don't want anyone messing around. Concentrate on the project, get it!" I said in an ice-cold voice. Everyone nodded their heads.

"Sir, it's already 9'Pm you must go home and get some rest" said Liam in a hesitant voice. "You can go," I told Liam. Whenever he says "Sir it's late you should go home and rest" he actually meant " I want to go home and rest". It's already pretty late and I don't want to
hold him anymore. Usually everyone, including Liam, will leave by 6'pm or 7'pm but today he stayed back to help me with the project. Since I had little work pending, I started to work.

I looked at my watch and it's already 10'pm. I tidied my bench a bit since all the files were clumped together. I opened the table drawer to keep a file, and I noticed a picture of me with
my friends. It was captured when I was 20. I looked so small compared to them. They aren't my friends but more like brothers to me. It was with them I had my happiest time. But I ruined it all. I ruined the best part of my life by myself. The memories of the moments we spent together rushed with the memories of me ruining it. It was all because of me. I ruined it by myself. I walked towards the big glass window. Gazing at the night sky regret is all I could feel. The only feeling I have been carrying in my heart for the past 5 years. It haunts me every day. Like a monster it rips every inch of my heart. I wish someone could just take it away from me. I let out a soft sigh and left.
