Flying, oh how I love it. The feeling of the air on my wings, face and feet was so soothing.
Tony and I came to a halt where Dr. Selvig was with the machine. I landed near it missing the feeling of the air between my toes.
"Shut it down Dr. Selvig!" I called over the the noise.
"It's too late! She can't stop now." Dr. Selvig said dreamily looking at the machine, "she wants to show us something! A new universe."
"Okay." Tony said not amused.
He blasted the machine hitting what seemed like a Force field and sending us all back. Of course, me being me, I fell off the building.
Before I hit the ground my wings straightened out making me fly up once again.
And let's just say that civilians saw me for the first time. Great.
"Libby, time for plan B." Tony told me over the com.
I hovered slowly behind him with my grey wings as his suit was taken off of him.
"Please tell me your going to appeal to my humanity." Loki said walking in.
"Actually, I'm planning to threaten you." I jabbed him with my elbow, "we, we were planning to threaten you." He grunted.
"You should have lest your armor on for that." Loki chucked.
"Yeah, it's seen a bit of mileage, and you've got the glow stick of destiny." I snorted as we walked down to the bar.
"Would you like a drink?" Tony asked Loki.
"Stalling won't change anything." Loki said with a smirk.
"No no, threatening. No drink? You sure I'm having one."
"Me too!" I said pulling out a bar stool.
"Nope your underage." Tony said.
"Hey I'm old enough to be your mother!"
"You don't have a licenses." Tony added smartly.
"You iron but hole." I pouted.
"The Chitarui are coming, nothing can change that. What have I to fear?"
"The Avengers." Tony said casually as he poured himself a drink, "that's what we call ourselves. We're sort of a team. Earth's mightiest heroes type thing."
"Ah, so that's what we're calling ourselves." I said aloud making Tony roll his eyes.
"Yes I've met them." Loki laughed.
"Yeah, takes us a while to get any traction, I'll give you that one." I said.
"But let's do a head count here. Your brother, the demigod, a super solder, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend. A man with breathtaking anger-management issues, a couple of master assassins, a scary little girl that could whoop my but any day-"
"You know it."
"-and you, big fella', you've managed to piss off every single one of them."
"That was the plan."
"Not a smart plan." I said.
"When they come," Tony said walking around to the bar as I slid off the stool.
"And they will." I put in.
"They'll come for you."
"I have an army." Loki stated.
"We have a hulk." Tony countered.
"Don't forget your little demon." Loki smirked.
"Have I ever told you that I utterly despise you?" I asked Loki.
"You're missing the point," Tony interrupted, "there is no throne. there is no version of this where you come out on top."
Tony put his arm around me pulling me close seeing that I was hurt by Loki's words.
"Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be-" putting his hands on my ears I smiled. He knew I didn't want to hear any swearing.
He uncovered my ears and took a sip of his drink.
"How will your friends have time for me when they're so busy fighting you?" Loki said getting closer to Tony who pushed me aside.
Loki put his scepter at the center of his chest where his arc reactor was to try to hypnotize him. But it didn't work.
"This usually works." Loki said confused.
"Well, performance issues, it's not uncommon. One out of five-" Loki grabbed his face and threw him.
"TONY!" I ran toward him only to be pushed back by Loki.
"Stay back Libby." Tony grunted.
Loki picked him back up and gritted his teeth, "You will all fall before me."
"Deploy!" Tony called out,
Loki threw him out the window.
"Tony..." I whimpered.
Then something shot out after him and I understood what he was doing.
Loki looked back at me as I shook my wing to I get up.
"Now your so called team will have to fight you." he said bringing his scepter to my chest.
I looked down as nothing happened, then looked up with a smile plastered on my face.
"You should know that your glow stick doesn't work on dead people."
Just as he was about to press the blade into my chest Tony appeared in the window drawing Loki's attention.
"And there's one other person you pissed off." Tony started, "His name was Phil."
Then he shot a Loki making him fly backwards.
I flew out by Tony and looked up to see a portal open and things come out. Most likely the Chitarui.
"Right, army." Tony said.
"Yay."
