*Liberty's POV*

We did it.

We defeated Loki, and saved the world.

At the moment I'm sitting down at a table eating shawarma with the gang.

It was quiet and peaceful until Natasha decided to open her big fat mouth.

"Liberty, I believe you have a story to tell."

"Huh, oh okay. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall-"

"Not that kind of story! Yours, you promised me earlier that you would explain everything. And I believe that since we went through heck and back we all have a right to know." Nat said calmly.

"I don't want you to judge me. This is the first time I've had friends in a long while." I said quietly looking down at my hands.

"We would never judge you, I promise." Bruce said warmly.

"O-ok then. After the explosion, and after I watch my, mother die I ran, I ran before getting caught by someone and knocked out. I found myself on a lab table when I woke up. That's when I found out that my 'uncle' was behind the whole accident. I also found out they were going to use me as a Guinea pig for all their experiments.
First they tested my ability to turn transparent and invisible. I tried
to get away a few times but it didn't end well. Then they tested on my eyes, that hurt a lot.
When they examined my body, they found that at the end of my spine there is a pocket of liquid that contained the same readings as the anti-aging serum my father had created and was in the lab when it exploded. It had gotten stuck in my back at a moment I was transparent. They decided not to touch it until they didn't need me for experiments anymore.
That's when I got my wings. They surgically attached them to my spine, then altered my back so I could bring them out and retract them."

"What about the power you have a hard time controlling? Did you get it there?" Clint asked sadly.

"I'll get there let me finish child." I hushed,
"They started to experiment with my brain but the way they were constantly doing it didn't let them get the results they wanted so they took a break.
That's when they tested me with gravity. You see the power I have that's hard to control is the power over gravity. Similar to telekinesis, but different. I can take away something's sense of gravity, intensify it or manipulate it. I couldn't control it at all back then. So when I found out that I had been there for a little more than ten years I got angry. Not meaning to, intensified the facilities gravitational pull making it explode, yet again leaving me as the only survivor and alone. Even if those people were bad they had families, and I murdered them all. I did the same thing they did to me, took them away from the ones they loved." I looked down at my hands, "I decided to save people trying to redeem myself of all of those people I killed, but I never felt like I did enough. Clint and Coulson were the first people to see me after that incident, I was so scared of my appearance that I knew everyone else would be terrified of me. So I stayed hidden in the shadows, away from everyone's judgmental eyes until someone needed help."

Steve put a arm around me pulling me in tight to his chest.

"On a less depressing note, do any of you remember giving me a com?" I asked with a smirk plastered on my face.

"No, Libby how did you talk to us?" Tony asked confused.

"When Thor's lighting hit me when you were fighting in the woods it activated the experiments they did on my brain. All that I know I can do at the moment is read and communicate with other people's minds." I replied.

"Is that so?" Natasha challenged.

"Yep, cause right now you're thinking that I'm totally lying right now cause that's all I've ever done." I replied slowing down at the end seeing Nat's shocked face, "I only lied because I didn't want to see that look on your faces."

"What look Berty?" Tony asked,

"Pity."

"Well admiration should be coming from all of us, you my little friend are one of the strongest people I know. And special. You've endured so much and kept going. You're a hero." Steve said.

"But I killed all those people."

"That was a mere accident my dear. I believe that all of us have gone through something that made us want to be able to help others, helped us become great." Thor replied warmly.

"So you guys don't think I'm a lab experiment gone wrong monster?"

"No Liberty, I believe we all think you're a true hero." Steve said squeezing his arm around her.

I smiled. For the first time in a very long while I felt like I had a family. A totally awesome, butt kicking, alien army concurring, different family. And I liked it that way.
