"Oh shit" Aaliyah said tripping over her own two feet trying to hit the tennis ball that Cali just threw. "Girl be careful" Cali said laughing at the girl.
"You know she can't let any ball pass her" Taylor said eating some strawberries at the table nearby. "It's just in my blood baby" Aaliyah said smiling getting ready to hit another ball.
Tennis was nothing new to the girls. The three loved doing random activities together, often trying new things and making sure they were involved in the latest. I mean...it was kind of their job to be involved but being together and having fun was just one of the perks.
"Aaliyah you just got your hair done and you're about to sweat it out doing allat" Taylor said loudly so that the girl could hear her. "You right, lemme stop" Aaliyah replied going to sit down next to her, Cali following.
"Unt Untttt move biggie" Taylor said mugging Aaliyah who took strawberries out of her bowl. "Girl hush" Aaliyah said smiling, eating the strawberries.
"Sooo, what's tea" Cali said cheesing, dying to know something. "Oh my gosh I forgot to tell y'all. So, why I was scrolling through ig yesterday and yall remember Devin..right?" Taylor asked.
"Tall, kinda skinny, nerdy...liked Aaliyah in the 10th grade Devin?" Cali asked grabbing a strawberry. "Yes girl, why he in a relationship with Angel" Taylor said causing the girls' mouths to drop.
"Oh wow" Aaliyah said with eyes wide looking at Cali to see her reaction. "That fake gay ass bitch" Cali said scoffing. "Yeah they went to Dubai together and it looks like they had a time" Taylor said shaking her head grabbing her phone to show the girls the photos.
The newly couple looked happy as if they enjoyed themselves a lot. It was like seeing the pictures made Aaliyah realize that it was time for her to move on, seeing now that her ex had.
It made her feel funny to see that her ex was now with a man. But it's not like it was something new. Angel was sleeping around with men time and time again, Aaliyah just didn't really expect a man to be the one she ended up with.
"Anyways. Aaliyah how have you and Paige been?" Cali asked looking away from the phone and changing the subject. "There is no me and Paige" Aaliyah said laughing. "Girl we all know yall want each other, why yall haven't started anything yet?" Taylor asked.
"I don't know, maybe because I don't want to start anything with her." The girls looked at her like she was dumb before she fessed up. "I'm scared y'all" Aaliyah said chuckling a little but it turned into a frown.
"Aaliyah you can't keep beating yourself up about what happened. Not everyone is a weird and terrible bitch like Angel. Paige has a kind heart and I'm sure she wouldn't try to hurt you" Taylor said trying to convince the girl to take the chance.
Aaliyah thought about it. Paige was sweet but she didn't know. Was she even ready to jump into the dating world again? It's been years, did she lose her flirting skills? or her...yeah no.
So many questions were running through her head before Cali snapped Aaliyah out of whatever daze she was in. "Call that girl please" Cali stated, not asking.

Aaliyah got ready for bed, taking her shower and completing her nightly routine. She moved under the covers before getting the urge to call the number she kept thinking about.
The facetime rung twice before Paige answered. She was lying in bed, arm on her forehead.
"Hey" Aaliyah said initiating a conversation. "Wassup" Paige replied brows furrowed a bit. The call went quiet for a minute, Aaliyah trying to figure out what to say.
"Ian think you'd ever call" Paige stated causing Aaliyah to chuckle. "Neither did I" Aaliyah responded jokingly. "Oh wow" Paige said laughing. "I'm just playing" she said also laughing.
"You got your hair done today?" Paige questioned seeing the girl's new hairstyle. "Yeah, you like it?" Aaliyah asked putting the camera closer to her and touching it. "Mhm, how much was it?" Paige asked.
"Um..$150 including the bundles. I get a discount because I'm an ambassador" Aaliyah replied. She seen Paige go on pause, a little confused but she continued talking.
"What you did today?" Aaliyah asked. "I went to practice and then we went to a restaurant" Paige replied still on pause. "Okay can you get off pause please" Aaliyah said getting a little anxious. Paige chuckled.
"If you wanted to see my face that bad you could've just said that" the blonde replied getting off pause. Aaliyah instantly started blushing.
She was quiet until she seen a cashapp notification pop up. "Oh hell no" Aaliyah said mugging the camera. "Paige why would you just send me $200?" the girl asked confused.
"For your hair duh" Paige replied. "I don't need your money" Aaliyah said going to the app. She sent the money back causing Paige to suck her teeth.
"Why would you send it back?" Paige asked. "Like I said, I don't need your money. I've already paid" Aaliyah replied. The blonde didn't respond. "I'm bout to come over" she said getting up.
"You think you can just invite yourself over here?" Aaliyah asked, receiving no response watching as Paige grabbed her keys and walked out the dorm.
Still on the phone, Aaliyah could hear Paige at her door. "Open it" she stated looking down at the phone. "No" Aaliyah replied looking at the phone.
"Aaliyah come open the door" Paige stated again. The girl complied getting up and opening the door for the other girl.
Walking away from the door as soon as she seen the girl's face. Getting back into the bed. Paige following behind her.
"Don't get under the covers get on top of the comforter. Here use this blanket" Aaliyah said grabbing the blanket on her bed and handing it to Paige. Paige gave her a face before taking the blanket.
"So what made you call?" Paige asked genuinely curious. "I don't know. I just did it honestly" Aaliyah responded not knowing what made her call the girl.
"Right.." Paige said giving the girl a questioning look. "I'm being for real" Aaliyah said laughing a little causing Paige to also laugh.
The two continued to talk and laugh the rest of the night. Paige didn't leave until around midnight, Aaliyah immediately missing her company.
She was about to go to bed before she realized she didn't turn off her lights. Going to turn them off, she looked over at her desk to see two hundred dollar bills. "This girl" Aaliyah said putting her hand over her face, giggling.
