Chapter 18 Nightmares Part 1

Pisces's POV

I ran. My leg was badly hurt. My life flashed in front of my eyes as I slipped and fell. Someone picked me up and threw me into the ocean. Water rushed into my lungs as I tried to swim towards the surface. My injuries stang and something was holding me back. I found a pair of chains keeping one of my leg in place. My injured leg was free and my arm looked fine. I tried to free myself, but instead of freeing myself, I almost sprained my ankle. I panicked, not sure how long my powers could help me breathe in the water.

"Do you need help?"

I saw a mermaid standing, or should I say swimming, next to me. I nodded, not able to speak for a moment. The mermaid was beautiful. She had long dark blue hair which faded into skyblue. She had emerald eyes and a purple tail. The mermaid brought a weapon, which broke the chains and I was free. I thanked the mermaid and tried to swim towards the surface when I heard a scream. It was from the mermaid, who got captured by Ophiuchus. He was holding a knife against the mermaid's neck and she was looking at me with panic in her eyes. I knew that I had to help her, but at the same time, I felt my energy draining. My vision went blurry as I swam towards Ophiuchus and hit him on the head. He fainted and the mermaid was free. The mermaid made a seaweed rope and tied Ophiuchus up. She thanked me and helped me swim towards the surface. My legs felt numb and I was starving. My head was spinning and everything started to go dark just when I reached the surface. I gasped for air and noticed that I was in a small white room with bubbles floating around. In the bubbles, there were memories I made with the zodiacs. Paint wars, swimming, mini prom....all those wonderful memories were kept in the bubbles. I was about to touch one when suddenly the floor collapsed and I fell into the hole....I woke up to find the mermaid sleeping next to me. I was underwater again, but this time, a bubble was around my head. I could breathe air and say words. It was like a helmet. The mermaid woke up and smiled at me.

"You must be confused sweetheart."

"I am. Where am I and who are you?"

"Well, my name is Marina and I'm a mermaid. This is my Merhome."

"Merhome?"

"A home for the mermaids."

"You mean there's more of you out there?"

"Yes. A lot of us were hunt down years ago by human. We lost a lot of mermaids."

"Oh..."

"What is your name?"

"My name is Pisces. I'm a constellation."

"A constellation? You live in space?"

"Yes. There's a place called Starco and it's an amazing place to live!"

"That sounds great! If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing here?"

"Me and my other eleven friends got sent down to Earth when we were young. We all have powers and our element power."

"Element power?"

"There are four elements. Fire, water, earth and air. The fire signs have fire powers. They can't get hurt by fire. They can also breathe in smoke without getting sick afterwards. The water signs can breathe underwater. They can control nearby water. The earth signs can control earth. They can create natural disasters. The air signs can control air currents. They can fly. Using our element power drains our energy, so we have to be careful when we're using our element powers."
