-Zane's POV-

We were now walking around, trying to find Dane's pack. I tried sniffing out scents to see if this territory belonged to the Shadowcrest, since he told me he was from the Shadowcrest pack. I didn't think much of it and continued walking.

I stopped as I remembered that since he had come to the stream last night, it must be near that stream, so I led him there.

As we walked, I couldn't stop thinking about how I heard that name somewhere. Kay definitely said something about someone named Dane, but I couldn't remember who Dane was. I sighed as I saw the stream and finally managed to sniff out the Shadowcrest territory. I walked with him there. As he crossed the line, I stayed behind since I'm an outsider. However, Dane told me it was fine. I was kinda thirsty and was reluctant but slowly walked over the line. I had crossed their territory, but it would just be for a few seconds, and Dane could vouch for me.

However, as I was walking with Dane, I heard the bushes rustling so I immediately stopped in my tracks and looked at the bush. Dane noticed and also stopped, looking at me then at the bush I was looking at, until a small rabbit jumped out. I sighed in relief, but not even a second later, a large wolf tackled me. I growled, and we tussled. I was as big as an alpha, so I had no issues actually fighting one, but this shocked me, so I struggled a little but managed to knock him off me, however it was so weird when he suddenly stopped attacking me, and instead starting sniffing my neck area like crazy. My nose scrunched as his scent hit my nostrils, His eye's were darker, but Dane immediately tried to get the wolf off me.

"Da- Shadow stop! Stop!"

I froze at the name Shadow. He was the alpha of the Shadowcrest pack. He finally got off me as I stood properly, huffing. Dane got in between us, as I finally got a proper look at Shadow. He was huge; we were similar in size. I may be as big as an alpha, but our weights are completely different. He was so heavy. And when I'm talking about size, I mean in our wolf form because I'm pretty sure he's bigger than me in his human form. But enough of that, he had red eyes, and his fur was a very light blonde, almost white. He did have a scar across his nose, probably from a fight against another alpha.

Other wolves joined Shadow's side; there was a wolf next to him. He had darker fur, had orange eyes, definitely his right-hand man, a delta.

"Okay everyone, calm down. Shadow, this wolf helped me, okay? He helped me get back here, and it's my fault he crossed the territory. I knew he was thirsty, so I was gonna bring him to the watering hole for a quick drink, and he was gonna leave after!" He explained to Shadow. Shadow then looked me up and down. He didn't say anything for a while before finally,

"I apologize. And thank you for bringing my brother back here."

I looked at him, registering what he had just said. Wait... brother? Dane was his younger brother, but they looked nothing alike. I ignored the thought before letting out a huff.

"Well, I should get going before someone rips my head off," I mumbled as I trot away. The whole time I could feel his eyes on me, just staring. It creeped me out, and I couldn't understand why, but I ignored it as I left his territory, disappearing into the distance.

"Thank you! Wait, I never got your... name..." I heard him shout, but didn't answer and just pretended I was too far away to hear him.
