*Kakashi's POV*
Ever since my father died, I never tried to get close to anyone again, only because I knew they would leave eventually.
And I was right.
Obito's gone.
Rin's gone.
Minato-sensei...
There was no reason for me to ever become close to them.
Or was that the reason they are all gone now? Because I was too afraid to protect them.
Well, it won't happen again. Not to my own son.
"Dad!"
I stop in my tracks, looking behind me at the yellow blur and the screaming young Uzumaki who came from it. He stopped on the branch below me.
"You can't just leave me at home! He's my brother and I'm coming too!"
I glared at the little boy who didn't seem fazed by it. He only stood his ground, staring into my eyes.
I could only smile. He is really like them.
Without a word, I turned back speeding off to the Hokage's tower.
After a couple minutes, I heard Min's voice. "Dad? Why are we going to the Hokage's Tower? If they locked Naru up, then wouldn't he be at the prison with Ibiki."
I continued on my way without a word. I knew about that prison. As a kid, I saw many people in the village being sentenced there for killing, stealing, and abusing. But as a young Shinobi in the Anbu, I knew where the real prison was.
Under the Hokage's Tower was a labyrinth, a ship-tight security vessel, built for the most vicious of criminals. Prisoners of war and spies alike were sent there to be tortured for information.
But of course, I couldn't tell Min that or, well, then there would probably be more than one kid of mine I'll be taking to the hospital tonight.
I stopped, perched on a branch just feet from the Hokage's Tower. Min wasn't too far behind. He was fast.
"How are we supposed to get in Dad? The entrance will be closed." Min asked me.
I shook my head. My sweet innocent little boy.
"We have to get there." I pointed to the base of the Hokage's Tower to the right in the shadows. I knew of a secret entrance there.
"What are we waiting for?" Min bustled, hopping on the branch in front of me. "Let's go!" Before he jumped on the ground, I grabbed his arm.
"Look before you leap." I hushed him. He looked up at me in shock when I grabbed his body, throwing him against the bark of the tree.
He seemed to be about to protest when I covered his mouth over his mask. Then we heard footsteps. Min looked to his right, on a tree branch nearby, was an Anbu guard.
I heard him gasp and his spine straightened against the tree. The Anbu guard stood there for a minute, surveying the area before disappearing.
I gave him the look he knew well, him being my son. To be quiet.
He sighed deeply, but quietly. Then he nodded at me. I returned it and jumped down to the shadows where the secret entrance was.
"How do you know about his dad?" Min asked, but I brushed off the question. "Later," I told him. I pushed in the bricks in a certain order. A door outline was made in the bricks, and it clicked and pushed in.
