Chapter Six: First date and golf day

The ride to the Diner was mostly filled with talk of school and the homework they had been assigned, saving the real conversations for when they were out of the car. Thankfully, Stars Hollow is a small town and it didn't take long to arrive at Luke's.

Tristan parked the car and got out. He walked around to Tori's side to open her door. Unfortunately she had already opened her door and was in the process of stepping out.

"Oh no you don't." Tristan told her, pushing the top of her head slightly so she slipped back in the car. He re-shut the door then opened it and extended his hand to help her out.

Tori let out a loud laugh as she exited the car, "What the hell was that?"

"I was raised to be a gentleman, No lady shall open her own door in my presence." He told her as they made their way to the diner.

Once again Tristan opened the door for her and the two walked inside. Thankfully it wasn't too busy today but there were a couple of people inside. Tori led Tristan to a booth by the window and the two sat down.

"I'd pick up your menu and figure out what you want quickly." Tor advised him, "Luke has no patients."

Tristan chuckled and grabbed a menu, "Good to know."

Not even a full minute later Luke came up to their table, "Hey Tori."

She smiled up at the older man, "Hi Luke, this is my friend Tristan. He goes to Chilton with Rory and me"

Luke looked over and boy and nodded, "You know what you want?"

Tori grinned over at Tristan, "I just want a coffee and chili fries."

"Uh, a coke and a cheeseburger, please." Tristan ordered.

"Coming up." and with that the man was gone.

"Wow that was quick." Tristan laughed.

"Now watch," Tori told him, "He's gonna grab the phone and call my mom. Just to make sure she knows where I am and who I'm with."

And sure enough as soon as he walked back behind the counter, he immediately reached for the phone. The two teens laughed at him before focusing back on each other.

"I'm glad you agreed to go out with me." He told her with a smile.

Tori chuckled, "Well you didn't leave me much choice, did you?"

"Well I figured you'd have a harder time turning me down to my face." He grinned playfully.

"A very well thought out plan." She replied, "But just so you know, I would have said yes regardless."

"Good to know for future reference."

Luke brought their food out to them but didn't walk away immediately, "So I talked to your mom," The teens laughed at this, "and apparently she does know that you're here with him."

"Thanks Luke." Tori grinned up at him.

He gave her as small smile in return before frowning at the boy, "I've got my eye on you two though, I'll be right over there all day." and with that he was gone again.

"Wow." Tristan shook his head, "I kinda thought your mom was kidding about the whole town being on high alert about me."

"When did she say that?" Tori asked, confused.

"When you were upstairs getting ready." He told her with a laugh, "She gave me a whole speech."

She groaned in embarrassment, "Oh my god, I am so sorry."
