Lyra and James had not gotten to do their plan since Sirius had announced that he was dating Marlene and Remus had looked heartbroken.
Today they were starting their fifth year, at the beginning of summer Sirius had run away never to come back. He stayed at the Potters he had tried to get Lyra to come with him but she had refused to leave Regulus alone with their parents. So she stayed at Grimauld Place.
Regulus and her were gonna go to the Hogwarts express soon, she was standing in her (and Sirius old room) room trying to cover up her new bruises with some makeup as Regulus comes in.
"He's gonna see right through that"
"Nah! Our dear brother isn't the most observant person"
"If you say so. You gonna tell him about the tapestry?"
"Yeah he'll probably laugh"
"He is crazy"
"That is true Reggie"
They arrived at Platform 9 and 3/4 gave each other a quick hug and walked towards opposite directions on the train.
It wasn't hard for Lyra to find her brothers compartment it was by far the loudest one of them.
She walks inside and almost falls over by the force of Sirius hugging her.
"Lyra! I missed you!"
"I've missed you too Sirius"
Sirius looks worried
"How you been? You look thin, too thin! Have you eaten properly"
"I'm fine, mum burned you off the tapestry by the way"
Sirius smirks triumphantly
"Finally"
The other boys hug Lyra and she sits down beside James, happy that Sirius didn't notice her makeup over her bruise he only noticed her being too thin. She sits down and breathes out
"Just because Sirius didn't notice you trying to cover that bruise doesn't mean I didn't" James whisper to her
She looks at him worried
"Don't worry I won't tell Sirius, but I'd like you to tell me about it"
"Ugh! Alright"
"Good! Astronomy tower tonight after dinner?"
"Sure, but what do we tell the boys"
"Leave that to me Ly!"
"Alright "
After that the train ride is the usual, filled with jokes and pranks.
They all arrive at the great hall to watch the sorting, the marauders had made a tradition every year of guessing the house before the hat shouted it out.
"Johanna Bloom" McGonagall says
"Slytherin" Sirius guesses
"nah mate! Clearly she's a Gryffindor" James says
Remus shakes his head and say
"Hufflepuff"
The hat shouts "Slytherin" And Sirius smiles triumphantly.
"John Fellman" McGonagall continues
"Gryffindor" Both James and Sirius guess
"Ravenclaw" Peter pipes up
"Hufflepuff" both Lyra and Remus says
The hat shouts "Hufflepuff " and Remus and Lyra look triumphant.
They continue like this until it's done and then Dumbledore starts dinner.
While everyone is grabbing food James notices that Lyra isn't eating. He takes her plate and puts food on it.
