~ Chapter 5 ~

Your blood ran cold as waves of confusion overtook you after hearing Envers confession, unconsciously lowering your sword to the side. You were doing your best to keep yourself composed in front of him. Seeing the dark glimmer in his eyes and the sparkle in his smile, you tried desperately to control your breathing. Whether you knew him or not; you had no idea of what he is capable of and that really scared you. You swallowed the lump in your throat before clearing your throat to speak.

Y/N: That's ridiculousI will never be yours. You whispered cautiously. In all the places youd faced danger on your journey as you searched for Zoroyoud never felt so unsafe in this stranger's presence.

Enver: But you will be Y/N..you have no idea how long Ive waited just to be near you like this. Enver continued, sleeving his sword behind his back before daring to take another step closer to you. Your heart crept up into your throat as fear continued to consume you. You wanted to move but you couldnt, you felt stuck to the floor. You thought he would continue to get closer to youuntil a glimmer of another sword interjected.

Zoro: Leave this ship and never come back. Zoro spoke, having heard enough. He stepped in between the two of you, pointing his sword at Envers chest as he stood in front of you. You unconsciously grabbed his right sleeve as a wave of relief washed over you, peering over his broad body to watch.

Enver's smile dropped, his eyes shifted down at the sword before looking up at Zoro and scoffing.

Enver: Hmm that's interesting considering the last time we met, I won our fight and you lost your memory. Enver gloated. Zoro felt you visibly stiffen behind him.

Zoro: I would never lose to someone as shitty as you. Zoro venomously spoke, his patience beginning to wear thin. Enver barked a laugh before he continued.

Enver: Oh that's right you dont rememberIm the one who wiped your memory Pirate Hunter. Enver proudly spoke, grinning like a madman.

Hearing the words leave his mouth, you felt your whole world freeze before feeling yourself tremble. All sound had muted apart from the sound of your teeth gritting as your fear became anger and tears brimmed threatening to cascade down your face. The last few years of pain and loss was caused because of you, because of this man's infatuation with you. Zoro didnt have to turn around to see the amount of shock and pain you were experiencing. He didnt act, didnt move but kept his guard up.

Your eyes darkened, your grip tightening on your sword as you let the tears fall before releasing Zoro's sleeve and stepping around him raising your sword. Enver seeing your demeanor change took a step back, his smile grew wider seeing you like this.

Y/N: I thought I was going crazyyou wiped his memory. Your voice deepened with fury, slowly taking more steps towards him.

Zoro knew better than to step in. Hed only ever seen the kind and gentle side of you. What he was seeing was a completely different person.

Y/N: YOU TOOK HIM AWAY FROM ME! IM GOING TO KILL YOU EVEN IF ITS THE LAST THING I EVER FUCKING DO. You screamed, tears blocking your vision as you quickened your steps.

Enver chuckled before throwing a smoke bomb to the floor. Zoro stepped forward pulling you closer to him as his arm wrapped around your waist before the smoke enveloped the both of them. The smoke invaded your lungs as you began to cough.

Enver: Im coming for you Y/N. Enver spoke out, his voice sounding distant in the smoke.

After heaving out the last of your coughs and the smoke eventually clearing away, you looked around to see Enver had disappeared along with the rest of his crew. Taking a deep breath in and feeling the anger you felt turn into pure pain and defeat flood throughout every vein in your body. You dropped your sword to the floor, zoning yourself out.
