Kaiden's Perspective
Flashback~
I awaken with a start, greeted by the soft glow of my alarm clock. The red numbers read 7:00 AM, heralding the beginning of a new day at a new school. With a surge of anticipation, I throw off my covers and spring out of bed. Today marks a fresh start, a chance to make new friends and explore unfamiliar territory.
Bounding down the stairs, I'm greeted by the comforting aroma of breakfast. My parents offer amused looks as I devour my pancakes with lightning speed. Even my younger brother seems taken aback by my voracious appetite. But I can't help it – excitement courses through me like electricity.
As I hastily finish my meal, my family offers their best wishes for the day ahead. With a quick nod and a smile, I grab my backpack and head out the door, ready to face whatever challenges await.
The walk to the bus stop is tinged with nervous energy. Despite my past experiences with moving, the prospect of starting over in a new school still fills me with trepidation. Approaching the bright yellow bus, I steel myself for the curious stares of my fellow passengers.
Navigating my way to an empty seat, I'm met with the gaze of a girl unlike any I've seen before. Her appearance is striking – from her neatly tied black hair to the vibrant hues of her clothing. But it's her intense stare behind baby blue glasses that catches my attention.
A palpable tension hangs in the air as I tentatively introduce myself. The girl, Maia, responds with guarded reserve, her eyes betraying a hint of apprehension. Sensing her discomfort, I quickly retreat into silence, casting my gaze out the window as the bus lurches into motion.
The journey to school is punctuated by awkward silence, broken only by the occasional glance exchanged between Maia and me. Stepping off the bus, I'm greeted by the imposing sight of the school building looming overhead. Its sheer size is enough to send a shiver down my spine.
Navigating the bustling halls, I find myself drawn once again to Maia's presence. This time, however, her demeanor seems softened, her expression more welcoming. With a hesitant smile, she approaches me, offering to show me around the unfamiliar campus.
And so, with Maia as my guide, I embark on the first day of my new journey, eager to unravel the mysteries that await within these walls. Little do I know; the true adventure is only just beginning.
