Sarita's Perspective

Present Day

In the midst of the morning chaos, my room resembles a battleground strewn with the casualties of my perpetual tardiness. Papers flutter like wounded birds, and books lay scattered like fallen soldiers as I frantically search for my belongings. With each passing second, my frustration mounts, teeth grinding together in vexation.

"Late again? Seriously?" I mutter under my breath, the words lost in the whirlwind of activity. Suddenly, with a resounding crash, I find myself sprawled on the floor, a victim of my own haste. Groaning in annoyance, I pick myself up, limbs protesting the hurried movements.

Emerging from the turmoil of my room, I collide with an unexpected obstacle on the front lawn, halting my frantic dash. "Hey there, Sarita, in a hurry?" Kayden's voice cuts through the chaos, offering a steadying hand amidst the turmoil. Grateful for his assistance, I offer a quick thanks before we embark on a frantic sprint to the bus stop.

As we hurtle towards our destination, the world blurs in a frenzy of motion. Together, Kayden and I navigate the bustling streets, determined to defy the relentless march of time. With each hurried step, the distant rumble of the approaching bus grows louder, a beacon of hope in our race against the clock.

Finally, as the bus comes into view, we redouble our efforts, pushing through the throng of pedestrians with single-minded determination. With a collective sigh of relief, we board the bus just as its doors begin to close, narrowly avoiding the crushing weight of tardiness.

Settling into our seats amidst the cacophony of the bustling bus, Maia's playful smirk greets us like a ray of sunshine in the storm. "Running a marathon, Sarita?" she teases, her eyes dancing with mischief. "Yeah, yeah, just another day in paradise," I reply with a weary smile, the adrenaline of the morning's chaos slowly dissipating as the bus pulls away, carrying us towards the day's adventures.
