The group gathered in their old treehouse, their faces illuminated by the soft glow of the flickering fluorescent lights above. Sarita stood at the center, a map spread out before her, as she began to explain their next mission.
"Alright, listen up, everyone," Sarita began, her voice steady and determined. "We've been getting reports of increased wanderer activity on the outskirts of town. It seems they're getting bolder, and we can't afford to ignore the threat they pose."
Miles, his eyes wide with excitement, leaned in eagerly. "Wanderers? You mean those creepy corrupted animals, right?"
Sarita nodded; her expression serious. "That's right. They're dangerous, and they're getting stronger. We need to be prepared for anything."
Kayden listened intently, his heart pounding in his chest. This would be his first real mission with the group, and he was determined to prove himself.
"Okay, so how do we defeat them?" Kayden asked, his voice tinged with anticipation.
Sarita glanced around at the group, her gaze lingering on each of them in turn. "We'll need to work together as a team. Each of us has our own strengths and abilities, and if we combine them, we can take down even the toughest wanderers."
With a nod of understanding, the group set off into the night, their footsteps echoing against the cold concrete floor of the warehouse.
As they made their way through the darkened streets, Sarita continued to explain the nature of the wanderers, their twisted forms and terrifying abilities. Kayden listened intently, his mind racing with thoughts of the challenges that lay ahead.
Finally, they reached their destination: a desolate alleyway littered with debris and discarded trash. In the shadows, a massive figure loomed, its grotesque form oozing black liquid and emitting an eerie green glow. The body of a horse, and head of a fish, the wanderer became alert to the team's presence.
"That's our target," Sarita whispered, her voice barely audible above the sound of their racing hearts.
Without hesitation, the group sprang into action, each member using their unique abilities to engage the wanderer in combat. Firstly, Sarita's time manipulation, which allows us to be in different parts of town during school hours, only slowing down time of the school and the people in it. Her powers allow to slow down even a single object, jus by tapping it.
Not to mention Miles's portal creation, which lets us travel to the corners of earth and other realms with ease. His raw physical strength also being one of the best in the group. Maia's visual prowess, giving her heightened vision with her glasses taken off, being able to predict movements 0.2 seconds before it happens, being an amazing fighter and extremely agile. And her deadliest, a medusa like power, allowing to trap any living thing into a mere sheet of paper. Capturing their soul. And not to mention Axel's magnetic powers, using his body to repel or attract anything.
all their powers came together in a dazzling display of strength and coordination.
Kayden watched in awe as his friends moved as one, their movements fluid and precise. He longed to join them, to prove himself worthy of their trust and admiration.
But when he attempted to summon his own powers, everything went horribly wrong. His control slipped, and a surge of energy erupted from his hands, sending debris flying in all directions.
Panic washed over Kayden as he watched in horror, helpless to stop the chaos unfolding around him. And as the wanderer turned its glowing eyes in his direction, a sense of dread settled over him like a shroud.
