On the drive to Maria's I couldn't stop thinking about the things Dane said to me I mean over the years I have grown and so has my self confidence, all those memories I put them behind me and promised myself that I would never go back to those dark and twisted times.

But deep down I still believed it no matter how much I willed myself not to, I still felt ashamed of myself and that all of those words were the real me behind my hard exterior.

And for the first time Dane made me believe that it wasn't true and I really was beautiful inside and out.

Don't get me wrong Maria and my dad would tell those same words all the time but I don't know hearing it come out of his mouth just felt so different and genuine.

I guess I just needed to hear it from someone who didn't know me or had a reason to reassure me.

But since our conversation in my bathroom I can't help but looks at Dane from a different perspective, as a more caring and loving person. And I find my heart doing something it rarely does trust I trust him I just hope he doesn't break it.

Pulling me out of my thoughts an incoming call from Maria shows up on my phone.

"Heyy girl I'll be there in 15 are you ready?"

When I looked over to the map on the screen of the tablet that sat next to my steering wheel I stared realising I wasn't to far away.

" Yh I'm ready I was just calling to let you know."

She responded in that chirpy voice of hers. " alright see you soon kisses." I finished. "Kisses." And she needed the call soon after.

I made a few more turns before pulling up to Maria's house. Maria is quite wealthy due to her parents but she also works as a model so she makes her own money.

Her house is around the same size as mine but she decided to go for a more vintage design unlike my more modern aesthetic.

I honk my horn about twice before she emerged from her front yard.

She was wearing flared dark blue mom jeans paired with a cropped white knitted jumper. She was holding a mini black purse that matched her black trainers.

She makes her way up to the passenger door opening it and taking a seat next to me.

"Omg I've missed you, and it's been a while since we've gone shopping!"

Maria's character is one most people would consider too much or annoying but I loved it and find myself missing it more often than I thought I would.

" you look cute as hell, and now that I think about it we haven't been shopping in forever."

I try and recall the last time me and Maria when shopping and for the first time I really couldn't remember.

"Anyway let's get this show on the road!"
