Nothing about our mission had been simple. Not a single thing. But I didn't regret a single thing.
Between Lizzie and I, we figured out something that no one else could've. The crown jewels were safe, there wouldn't be an impending doom about going to war, and I didn't have to go to boarding school.
Now I could focus on the finer things in life. Such as the giant chocolate chip cookie sitting in front of me.
Lizzie nudged me. "See? I told you nothing bad was going to happen."
I laughed. "I shouldn't have ever doubted you."
Dean and Alexandria leaned against the counter and grinned.
"What?" I asked.
Dean shrugged. "You've tackled monsters, evil uncles, and the secret passageway. What's your next adventure?"
Alexandria stole a piece of Lizzie's cookie. "We both know you have one."
Stuffing a piece of cookie into my mouth, I spoke with my mouth full. "Algebra."
