Chapter 11

Sir Pentious, Nifty, Husker, and (Y/n) watched as Charlie paced back and forth in the lobby. Nifty had a mischievous glint in her eyes, Pentious stared in a mix of confusion and worry, while Husk poured alcohol into a mug that said fuck Mondays as he started to grow worried from the princess' state. (Y/n) stood next to him with an equally concerned look and an untouched piece of coffee cake in her hands. The princess was too far gone to even notice them all standing there.

"I don't understand why it's not working. Think Charlie, think! Think, think, think, think, think!" Charlie said to herself as she continued to pace glancing at each individual piece of information scattered around the room and hitting herself on the head with her fists lightly. The woman started muttering to herself again, her eyes blood shot from lack of sleep.

Vaggie had descended from the stairs to join the group. Angel had snuck into the group as well as he stared at the princess. "Yikes...oh shit is that coffee cake?" Angel said immediately becoming distracted by the food in the overlord's hands. The woman rolled her eyes before gesturing her head towards the kitchen. The porn star was quick to grab his own plate before coming back to watch Charlie drive herself mad.

"Charlie? Sweetie, you, uh...you good?" Vaggie asked over Charlie muttering to herself. The princess was quick to flash the group a stressed smile. "Nope, no! Not really! Haha!" Charlie said with a fake laugh as she turned her blood shot eyes back to the display in front of her with a fake smile still plastered on her cheeks.

"I've been up all night trying to figure out why the hotel isn't working." Charlie said crushing a piece of paper in her hands. "I thought we've made quite a bit of progress." (Y/n) signed to Husker. "Not enough apparently." Husker scoffed as he took a drink from his mug.

"We've done trust falls. We've tried sharing our feelings. We only have a couple months left before the angels come!" Charlie said before letting out a fake laugh. The woman's bright red horns revealing themselves before she turned back towards her work.

"And at this rate-" "Maybe it's time..." Vaggie started to say when Charlie turned towards her. "No." "To ask." "Don't say it!" Charlie said while squishing the woman's cheeks in her hands. "Your dad." Vaggie finished making Charlie let out a loud groan.

"Charlie, I know you don't want to, but we need every advantage we can get." Vaggie said as she held her girlfriend's hands in hers. "He let the extermination happen to begin with. They just had a meeting and said, go ahead and kill everyone!" Charlie's statement made the overlord raise a brow before a smirk covered her cheeks.

A gasp from the princess took the overlord out of her slight trance. "Wait...that's it!" "Kill everyone?" Vaggie asked confused. "No! He could get me a meeting with Heaven." Charlie said making the group raise a brow at her.

"Didn't we already try that?" Vaggie asked. "Well, yeah, with Adam, he was an asshole." Charlie said as she brushed her hair away from her face. "Aren't all angels assholes?" (Y/n) signed making Charlie face her. "Well...maybe not all of them are. But, Adam isn't in charge of all of Heaven. We could go to the top! There's sure to be some angels who will listen." Charlie said before going through her contacts only to stop briefly on his contact.

"What's the hold up? You got daddy issues?" Husk said making (Y/n) hit him upside the head. The man sent her a glare where he immediately backed down to see her already glaring at him. "No, we just have never been close. After he and mom split, he never really wanted to see me." Charlie's voice held disappointment as she stared down at her phone.

"Does he talk to you? Ever?" (Y/n) questioned as a puff of smoke fell onto the coffee cake. "He calls...sometimes, but only if he's bored or like, needs me to do something." Charlie said turning back to the group. Husk smirked once more as he turned to Vaggie and Pentious. "Daddy issues." He said only to let out a groan as the overlord hit him again.
