Chapter 16 - My Immortal

Christine's POV

"Raoul, I swear if you ever so much as touch me I'll...." he slaps me across the face mid sentence and starts taking off my clothes. "My dear Christine. You know I've always wanted you and now I can have you." He gets on top of me while I'm crying and begging him to stop and get off of me. I've been saving myself for marriage and since I'm not married yet I'm still a virgin. I was hoping that Erik would be my first. Not this piece of trash who was once my whole childhood. Raoul starts kissing me and starts kissing my neck and chest when there's a splashing coming from the lake.

Eriks POV

We went to the first place where Christine would go if she were to escape. The labyrinth. I heard Christine yelling at Raoul and then he told her he was going to teach her about respect. Christine suddenly started screaming and crying telling him to get off of her and I immediately knew that this boy wasn't going to live. Zoe and I charged towards Christine and my home and when we got to the lake I jumped off my horse and started running in the water as fast as I could. Being in water it wasn't easy to run that fast but I had no time to get the gondola. I finally made it to the other side with Zoe right on my heels. I ran over to Christine while Zoe knocks Raoul out cold with one punch to the face. I take off my shirt and wrap it around Christine so she can cover herself.
"Christine, are you hurt anywhere? Did he do anything?"
Christine looks at me relived. "No Erik. He didn't. You guys came just in time." I smile and hug her and hold her close to me. Zoe comes over to us and Christine hugs her and tears up. "I knew you and your badass self would help" Zoe laughs and hugs Christine again. "If you need anything just call. I'll always be here for you." Christine nods her head and starts shivering. "I'm cold and tired. Can I go to sleep now?" We all start laughing and after we say our goodbyes, Zoe grabs Raoul who's sill unconscious and leaves. "Christine, are you sure you're alright?" Christine smiles at me and lays her head on my bare chest. "I'm fine angel. I promise." I pick her up and carry her to the bed and lay her down and just before I leave she grabs my hand. "Erik don't leave." I sigh "Christine I have to go clean up all the blood and fix the chamber." Christine sticks her bottom lip out and pouts at me. "Fine but you better come back and lay down with me when your done." I laugh and go over to Christine and kiss her. She wraps her arms around me and kisses me passionately. I was surprised because I didn't intend to kiss her passionately but hey I'm not complaining. She pulls away and I kiss her forehead and go clean up the mess that the idiot boy created.

(30 minutes later)

Eriks POV
Finally. I've finished cleaning up. I walk back into the bedroom to find Christine asleep. I'm tired myself. I look at the clock and its 11 pm. Wow. I'm never tired. Especially not this early. Oh well. I clean myself up in the chamber room and lay next to Christine trying not to wake her. Unfortunately she wakes up. "There you are. I've been waiting for you" she says with a sly smile on her face. "Well Christine I had to clean the mess that was left." she lays her head on my bare chest and I start messing with her curls. "Erik?"
"Yes"
"Will you promise me something?" she sits up and looks at me
"Of course Christine. What is it?" She places her hand on my deformed cheek and smiles. "Promise me that no matter what we'll always be together." I smile back at her and put my hand in her hair. "Of course Christine. I can't imagine going through life without you." She smiles and leans down and kisses me passionately again and for once in my life I feel and understand what love is. True love. Not lust but actual love. All my life I've been shown rejection and hatred. Today Christine has shown me what true love is. Everyone by I spend with her is another moment my heart grows and I see the world as a better place than what I was shown growing up.

Christine's POV
Being with Erik just makes me feel complete. His kiss feels different than Raouls. His touch is different as well. When I kiss Erik I feel love not lust. When Erik touches me in the slightest way I feel safe. Not scared. I love Erik. I can't wait to marry this man. I see I future with him and I'm so happy I ran away.
