Chapter 29 - Evidence

Unknown POV

HOW DARE HE??? Doesn't Erik know how much Christine loves him. I have to tell her before he gets back to the house. I've been hiding in Zoe's bushes because I knew something like this would happen. I heard everything. I haven't seen Christine in years but word gets around about people and things. Also she wrote to me a while and told me about everything. Wait until she hears about this.
Erik also needs to double check his clothes before cheating. There was a pair of Zoe's underwear on his pants that fell on the ground. I picked them up and hid them in my dress before making my way to the opera house. Hopefully I'll make it there before he does. I know several shortcuts.

Christine's POV
Doctor Vianne left about 2 hours ago. I've been making dinner by myself. Eriks been gone for almost 4 hours. What the hell is he doing? I finish making dinner and wait for him when I hear the lake sloshing. I look over but I don't see Erik. I see ..... Camille!!! Oh my gosh it's been ages since I've seen her. I thought I was never going to see her again. She used to live next door to father and me. I wrote to her a while back but I didn't think she lived there anymore. I can't believe she's here!! I run over to her as soon as she gets out of the lake and I huge her "Camille it's so great to see you!!"
Camille has soft curly brown hair that gets lighter at the bottom. She's pretty pale. When we were younger she would stay in the house most of the time. She's very skinny but not unhealthy. She's a gorgeous girl with light dark brown eyes that look almost as if they were different colors when you look at them up close. When she and I were younger we used to dance all around and due to her long legs she was great at Jazz.
"Christine!!" She exclaims as she returns the hug. "Christine I'm sorry but I have something to tell you."
I look confused so she continues but pulling out ladies undergarments.
"Christine. I found these. They fell off of Eriks pants. Don't think this is weird but just from here I can tell that they don't smell like only a girl either."
I took them and she had a point. I was holding them fairly far and I could smell Eriks sent. I knew he wasn't home yet because I would have heard him come in. What the hell did he do.
"Camille when did you find these?"
She sighed before answering my question.
"Well I found them about an hour ago. I was following him."
I looked at her shocked. "You what?"
Then she proceeded to explain why and how she followed him and how she hid in the bushes.
"Camille. It's really true isn't it?" I put my hand over my stomach and think about potentially raising this child without a father. Oh god Erik. Why?? Why would you do this to me and this baby??
"Christine. I'm so sorry."
"It's ok Camille. Eriks is going to be home soon. If you'll leave a current address I'll write to you and we can figure out a day where we can go to lunch."
"That sounds lovely. I'm so sorry Christine." She writes down her information and hugs me before she leaves. Erik Destler. You are going to be in a world of hurt when you get home. Pack. Your. Bags.

Camilles POV

This is not good. I hope Christine and Erik don't break up. Oh god Erik why were you so stupid. Maybe I should pay Zoe a visit. I don't know. That might not work out. I'll have to think of something. In the meantime I've got to help Erik get Christine back. God why are you such a dumb butt Erik. You have it all. You've finally gotten what you want. I can't believe you're throwing it away.

Christine's POV

I wait for Erik to get home and I sit at the organ. I'm so fucking pissed off. I've already packed my bags. I decided I wouldn't be a terrible person and make him move away from the only thing that he knows so I'm moving. I don't know where but I'll figure it out eventually. I'm so pissed off.
I look at all of Eriks things and cringe. He said he loved me. No he doesn't. If he did he wouldn't have cheated. Bastard. As I'm looking at all of his things I notice that there's an opera on the organ. I pick it up and look at the title.
"The Phantom of the Opera"
Wait what?
I flip through it and look at all the lyrics and the script and I tear up. No Christine. No feeling sorry for him. He cheated on you. That man doesn't love you. All of the sudden I heard the water moving in the lake and as I looked over I saw Eriks white mask flashing closer to his unannounced fate.

Camilles POV

Maybe I should go back. I don't want them to break up. Then again he did cheat on her. Erik why are you so dumb. I don't know what to do. I only told Christine so they could talk and work it out. I can be responsible for this to not work out. You know what. I'll go see Zoe. I'm going to give her a piece of my mind. She should know not to mess with Erik and Christine.

Christine's POV

I have to say after Zoe drugged Erik he's been acting different. I don't know what it is but I'm about to find out.
Erik gets off the boat and walks over to me, hugs me then kisses me. I don't move. Of course Erik notices and asks me.
"My Christine. What's wrong?"
I look at him surprised before crossing my arms across my chest.
"Goodbye Erik."
I walk over to my suitcase pick it up and start heading out of the lair.
"Christine what are you talking about?"
His mask is off now so I can see his entire face.
"Well Erik if you must know I do not appreciate you cheating. Especially when you were expecting a child."
I start walking again and this time I make it to the front door before he stops me.
"Christine. What are you talking about?"
I pull out Zoes undergarments before I throw them in his face and then walk out the door. Where? I have no idea but I'll figure it out.

Eriks POV

Oh. Fuck. I just lost Christine. I can't handle this. No this isn't happening. Oh god what have I done. This is not ok. Without thinking I write a note to Zoe telling her I can no longer see her and that she will not be allowed to contact me or Christine. After I send it off I quickly set on my search for Christine. Where would she have gone??

Christine's POV

I didn't know where I was going until I got there. I knocked on the door and when a familiar face answered I thought to myself what the hell am I doing??
"Raoul"
"Christine. What are you doing here?"
"Are you going to try to kill me?"
"No I've been sober for 3 weeks now. Why aren't you with Erik?"
"I don't want to talk about it"
Raoul welcomed me into his home and it wasn't long before I went on a peaceful stroll by myself in a nearby garden. The cool night air helping me clear my thoughts. The only thing lighting my path was the moon which was abnormally bright tonight. Little did I know that there were unkind strangers there. They tackled me to the ground and pinned me down. One of them started to slide my dress up until a powerful force pulled them off of me.
"Christine Daaé Destler what the hell are you doing?"
"I could ask you the same thing."
His look softened before he looked at my hand and noticed I was still wearing my ring.
"You haven't taken it off"
"I haven't gotten the chance to."
I slowly slide the ring off of my finger before placing it into his hand.
"Erik if you want to be with Zoe so bad then why done you just leave me for her?"
I turn and start to walk about before Erik grabs my arm and pulled me into him. Before I could protest he crashes his lips to mine and kisses me with so much love and passion. Whispering "I'm sorry." In between each kiss. Once we break for air I stare at his face. "You didn't put your mask back on."
Erik wraps his arms around me and holds me closer to him as he rests his forehead against mine. "I was so scared I was going to lose you forever."
"Why did you do it Erik? Why did you sleep with her?"
He pulls me even closer and sighs. "I don't know. I'm done with her I swear. I know it will take time before you can trust me again but Christine I love you." He places his hand on my stomach. "And I can't wait to become a parent with you."
I smile and kiss him again. This time it's me who puts all of the passion into it which surprised Erik but he seemed to catch on and kisses me back. After we pulled away he took my hand and slid my ring back onto my finger. "Please don't ever take this off again. I can't stand to lose you. I would die if I lost you. I don't know what I was thinking but I wasn't in my right mind. I swear Christine it won't happen again. I love you too much."
