When Severus's fourth year double Potions class commences that Friday afternoon, Severus pays a closer mind towards the boy. He hadn't seen him at any of the meals in the Great Hall the Thursday past, which only resolved to ticking Severus off further. Must the boy be so difficult?
Pairing him up with the Granger girl seemed to do the trick the last class, so he proceeds with that once again in this one. They followed the same routine as last time, with Granger handling most of the actual making of the potion, whilst Potter scribbled down what Severus hoped was notes, and not just scrawls from what it looked like.
Dragging his mind from the twos cauldron, he paced up and down the desks of his other students, leering and sneering at any Gryffindors. Praising the Slytherins as per usual, Severus knew he was accused of being biased and well, he bodied it. Why shouldn't he? If the Gryffindor's weren't so terrible in their skills, maybe he would show the same treatment. Alas, that seemed to only be possible in centuries far in the future, so Severus happily continued with his own way of working.
His godson, Draco, was doing as perfect as ever. He privately praised the boy, during their weekly tea and catch ups. Severus wasn't happy to call it that, but it seemed to bring a smile to Draco's face so he allowed the name to pass. However, it could only stick to those meetings as showing him outward congratulations would really get the rumour mill going. It wasn't secret that the two were Godfather and Godson, but who knows what people would throw at them if it became full public knowledge. Severus was biased, but he wasn't *that* biased. He would treat every Slytherin fairly, and every Gryffindor... well.
He rounded back to Potter and Grangers desk, displeased to see them doing so well. He scowled at his earlier line of thinking, but didn't amend his actions and didn't plan to do so in the future. Whatever, he's a simple man. The boy however, seemed to shake with nerves every time he stepped even a metre close to him, which made Severus want to roll his eyes into his skull. Merlin, he wasn't that bad.
Laughing internally, and throwing that thought into the dust, he loomed over Potter and enjoyed watching him recoil.
"Potter."
The boy flinched, and slowly met Severus's eyes.
"Yes, Professor?" He all but whispered.
If Severus had less self restraint, he doubted he would have eyes left to roll, seeing as they would all be collected in the base of his skull.
"You will come to your Remedial Potions lessons tonight, or else." He spoke, with a deep, snappy voice.
"Yes, sir." Potter responded quietly, quick to drop his gaze back down to that absolute work of parchment that lay on his desk.
As Severus walked back up to his teachers desk, he could hear Granger whispering frantically, and so he docked 10 points as he smiled to himself. Really, they get what's coming to them.

When the clock struck 7 that night, and there was no mousey knock at Severus's door, a silent seethe began to work its way through him. Surely, the boy couldn't be so idiotic as to ignore this lesson. If it was so, Severus would waltz his way into the Gryffindor tower. He would storm into the fourth year rooms, pick the boy up by the scruff of his neck, and launch him sideways out the window in the general direction of the dungeons. Whether the boy made it there or not, was none of Severus's concern.
His musing was unfortunately interrupted by the knock he expected— checking the time, whilst scowling— 10 minutes ago!
With a clearly annoyed tone to his voice, he allowed the boy to enter. A little part of him wanted to make the boy wait in the cold, seeing how he had shivered every time he came remotely close to the basement equivalent of the castle. He actually shivered all the time, it seemed. Just a little more when it came to down into the dungeons.
