August, 2021
The heat of that mid-August day made Gin want to enter the niche where Ale's father's coffin was about to be put in.
The fatigue of the four men who tried to raise the heavy coffin, which reflected the man's overweight, was made even more acute by the laughter of cousins and aunt. Country people, foolish and ignorant, thought Gin.
A lack of respect that was much more than a sensitive person like Ale could bear.
If his father had been buried in the ground, he would have gladly sunk with him. To end the mental pain.
In that little cemetery that shone with white stone, Gin was proud to stand next to that 29-year-old boy and make his pain and all his internal lacerations her own.
During the entire ceremony, the mother stayed at the bottom with her companion, the same as 15 years before. She wasn't legally part of the family anymore.
That day, at the cemetery, it was clear that Gin had a leading role in Ale's life.
She had become Ale's girlfriend.
Finally.
She wanted to prevent all evil from eroding her boyfriend's already fragile ego. She couldn't stand the idea he was suffering.
His seeming so broke, all his life, had convinced Gin that he just needed so much care and attention.
Neither she nor he knew he was a wolf, disguised as an afraid little lamb.
To make room for Ale's pain, and to balance the temperature of her body from the heat, Gin took shelter under the arcades of the cemetery, near the graves set in the wall.
From afar, he noticed how beautiful Ale was in that dress of death.
He was very different from childhood, he had become an evolved version of himself. First of all, he had surpassed six feet - this was worth a hundred points. He was extremely dry, with defined muscle bands. A face of a Greek god, reminiscent of Michelangelo's David, completed the statuary physique he had reached: his curly, chocolate-colored hair softened the face, lengthened over the years. He had developed high cheekbones - a great sign of beauty, of which he was unaware, luckily - enhancing hazelnut irises. The defined jaw and the straight nose constrained with what hadn't changed: his soul, shady and fragile, today more than then.
