Lilith~

The evening air was cool, with a slight breeze carrying the scent of the city as we drove to the bar. I could feel a mix of excitement and apprehension bubbling inside me. Emory had finally reunited with her brother, Helios, and now it was our turn to meet him and his so called "friends," though I don't trust them one bit. My mind raced with thoughts about how the night would go. Could we trust them? Could this actually be a trap? I glanced at Amara and Adelia, who were chattering animatedly in the backseat, their enthusiasm a stark contrast to my brooding silence.

"C'mon, Lilith, it'll be fun," Amara said, nudging my shoulder playfully. "Emory's excited, and we should be too." "I know," I replied, forcing a smile. "Just a lot to take in, you know?"

We arrived at the bar a few minutes later, parking the car and heading inside. The place was dimly lit, a cozy yet nondescript spot on the outskirts of town. Emory had already gone inside, and I could feel a knot of anxiety tightening in my stomach as we walked through the door. My eyes quickly scanned the room, landing on a table in the corner where Emory sat with a group of imposing figures.

As we approached, I saw Emory's face light up when she spotted us. Helios stood up, greeting us with a warm smile. "Fratello, this is Lilith, Amara, and Adelia," Emory introduced us, her voice filled with pride.

Adelia, ever confident, stepped forward first. "Nice to meet you, Helios. Emmy has talked our ears off about you. It's nice to put a face to the name. My name's Adelia."

Helios smiled warmly. "Likewise, it's an honor to finally meet my Farfalla's family." I watched as Adelia shook hands with each of Helios's friends, her charm evident. Amara followed, her usual quiet and observant self, greeting everyone politely. Finally, it was my turn. I stepped forward, my eyes locking onto Alessandro's. His presence was commanding, his green eyes sharp and assessing.

Alessandro's green eyes locked onto mine, and for a split second, I felt like I was being sized up. There was something unsettling about his gaze-sharp and calculating, like he could see right through me. Something about him made me uneasy-it was the quiet intensity, the kind that spoke of someone who didn't say much but noticed everything. I forced a nod but couldn't help but scowl in his direction inside my head; alarm bells were going off. Something about his demeanor was too controlled, too measured, like he was hiding something beneath that calm exterior. I could feel the tension building in my chest, a subtle wariness creeping in. I didn't trust him, not for a second. There was more to Alessandro than he was letting on, and I wasn't about to let my guard down around him.

"Lilith," I said simply, nodding in acknowledgment. Alessandro extended his hand, his gaze never wavering. "Pleasure to meet you, Lilith. Emory has told us all about you."

His voice was deep and smooth, carrying an air of authority. I shook his hand, feeling the strength in his grip. "I hope it's all good things," I replied, my tone even but cautious. There was something about him that set me on edge-an intensity that matched my own.

As we all sat down, the initial awkwardness began to disperse. Helios started sharing stories about him and Emory when they were younger, and I could see the bond they had. I listened, occasionally glancing at Alessandro, who seemed to be observing everything with a keen eye. Despite my initial reservations, I had to admit that there was a certain magnetism about him. So, Lilith," Alessandro said, his gaze shifting to me during a break in the conversation, "what exactly do you do?" His question was casual, but the way he asked it felt like he was fishing for something more.

"I run GarciaCorps," I replied smoothly, picking my words with care.

As soon as I said that, I was bombarded with questions and mumbles of no way and how cool yet Alessandro gave me nod almost like one of approval somehow it made me uncomfortable. it as if he was giving me his validation or as if i needing his approval.
