Dominic leaned back. It would be something different. Four wouldn't be hard either. On the grand scale, four was nothing. "When?"
"First one is next week, second one is in three weeks, third is in two months, and the last one is in six months," Nick said, looking down at a paper on his desk. He handed it over to Dominic.
He looked it over, easily knowing who the Alphas were of each pack. He glanced back up at Nick. "Why not."
Nick nodded. "It would help me out."
Dom snorted. "Now who's lying."
"Okay, it'll help you out." Nick smirked at him.
"Do you ever get tired of this?" Dom asked him.
"The truth?"
Dom nodded. He knew what Nick would say and he didn't like it, but it would be the truth. He just wished it was his truth.
"Noelle keeps it interesting. Before her, it.." Nick shrugged. "Life kinda sucked."
Dom knew Nick had been a workaholic before he'd found Noelle. Like himself.
"Have you thought about taking a chosen?" Nick asked him.
He had. "Sometimes. But it's so complicated." Taking a chosen would mean either finding a she-wolf who didn't have a mate, or a human that he would have to introduce to his world. Neither of which appealed to him.
He'd always avoided relationships and the thought of trying to start one with someone who he wasn't fated to just didn't sit well with him.
Nick nodded. "You never did answer my question."
Dominic sat back. The dream question he'd wanted to avoid. He wasn't getting out of this. Nick could be rather persistent. "Yes. A brunette."
"How long?"
Dominic frowned. How long had it been? "A while. I don't know. About a year now."
"Sex?"
YES! Amazing sex that left him annoyingly hard like he was a teenager when he woke up from them. Not that Nick needed to know that. "Yeah."
"I'd hold off on the whole Chosen Mate thing then." Nick gave him a smile.
"Why?" Dominic asked, looking down at the paper in his hands. He had no intention of taking a Chosen Mate any time in the near future.
"Is it the same woman?" Nick asked.
He never remembered her face, but he knew instinctively that it was. "Yeah."
Nick smirked at him, studying him like he knew something. "When was the last time you beded a woman?"
When was the last time? Over a year, he realized. And he hadn't even enjoyed it. He cursed under his breath. Something he rarely did. "Damnit Nick. I don't know whether to be excited or terrified."
"Could be a while yet. Concentrate on other things," Nick offered, pointing to the paper Dominic still had clutched in his hand.
"Why didn't I think about it that way?" He'd just enjoyed the dreams, and never really thought them through.
"Because you never thought you'd get a second chance," Nick said quietly.
Dom nodded. Nick was right. He never thought he would because it had been so long. Images of the woman he'd been mating almost nightly for the last year filtered through his mind. He had a love-hate relationship with It. He hated the nights she didn't visit him. And he hated the fact that he could never remember her face. He'd tried, but his dream woman was elusive. He knew she was beautiful.
