Lights!.. [Furina in HxH]

Two

Furina had underestimated how long and how far they were supposed to be running. They had been running for atleast 30 minutes now and Furina was slightly more greatful to the traveler for dragging her to collect hydroculous' to fix up the status's of the seven.

She looked back and saw a little black haired boy who had collapsed on the ground from exhaustion and the taunting of a group of triplets.

After thirty minutes of running she had managed to convince Crabaletta to get her to carry furina on her back. Furina looked back up ahead and saw thousands of stairs up ahead, she could practically see the despair radiating off of her.

They had eventually gotten up to the top where Satotz was waiting for everyone by the opening. Right before furina stepped out crabaletta disappeared. Furina looked around, well she couldn't see anything after a certain point because of the thick barrier of fog.

Satotz introduced the place as Swindelers Swamp. "We must cross these wetlands to get to phase 2. This place is full of cunning and deceiving creatures that prey on humans." He turned around to face everyone. "If they fool you, you're dead." After he finished explaining the sound of the door closing was heard followed by a man yelling. "Wait for m-" He was cut off by the door as it closed shut.

"Stay very close to me so you won't be deceived." He said as he turned his back to everyone. Furina heard the man behind her say "what a joke." under his breath.

A blonde haired man ran from around the corner yelling "Don't let him fool you he isn't the real examiner!" He pulled out what he said was a man faced ape and the examinee's started to doubt Satotz.

He yelled and pointed his fingers at Satotz before three cards were sent flying. Satotz caught all three cards sent at him while the other man fell to the ground as his had killed him. "I see.. I see. That settles it. You're the real one."

The cards had come from the pink haired clown. Soon vultures came down and started eating the dead man. Satotz used the interaction as a brief example and warned the hit pink haired man before he continued on with the test.

Furina had gotten separated from the group multiple times and ran into many monsters but she eventually got to the clearing where the other participants were waiting.

Furina found an empty spot on the ground and sat on the ground. 'I need a shower..' she was covered in dirt and sweat and her clothes were lightly damp from her falling into multiple puddles while in the fog.

Thirty minutes later Satotz's voice could be heard "excellent work everyone! Phase two of the exam will occur here in the Biska Forest Park." Satotz wished everyone good luck and left.

The gate opened and furina saw two people sitting at the top of a staircase who she assumed to be the next two examiners. "Welcome. I am Menchi, the second phase examiner."

"An Im Buhara, the other examiner." The tall man behind her chimed in. After the introduction the area went silent for a moment before a loud grumble was heard.
"I'm starving.." Buhara said.

Menchi stood up "There you have it, the second phase of the exam will involve.. Cooking!" She announced and furina could feel herself evaporating. She never really cooked anything other than macaroni or cake.

"The required ingredient is pork." Buhara said. "You're free to use any species of pig in the Biska forest" After quickly telling everyone the exam requirements they sent everyone off.

Furina wandered the forest in search of a pig. After a lot of searching out of the corner of her eye she saw a blob of pink behind a bush. She went over towards the bush, pushing the leaves out of the way and saw that there was a herd of pigs eating.. bones?

Before she could even get close enough to any one of them a group of four people angered the pigs and started to chase them. Furina sighed and looked around and saw there was still one pig left.

She slowly walked up behind it, pulling out her sword. She looked at the pile of bones it was eating "Are they carnivorous?.." she whispered, she shook her head and carried on.

She was only a few feet away from it when she accidentally stepped on a twig. The sound was louder than what it should've been, the pig quickly snapped its head back and stared at Furina with a angry look.

Furina slowly backed away with her hands in the air "N-nice Piggie.." she said nervously.

Furina made it back to her cooking station a complete mess. She set down the pig on the counter and dusted herself off, cleaned her hands and straightened out her hair before she started cooking.

A few moments later she walked up with two trays in her hand and placed one in front of both examiners.

Buhara ate her dish and gave it the okay right away, however Menchi was a different case. "..." she stared at the food in front of her and didn't even take a bite before she failed it.

"What?.. but you didn't even try it.." furina said slightly upset, it wasn't as if it looked bad.

"Cake." Menchi said. "You made a cake, using no meat at all." She said with a blank look almost dumbfounded.

Furina shook her head and tried to explain she did but was sent back to her station to cook again only this time Menchi was watching her cook this time.

Furina went and got some more wood and started the fire again, slowly turning the pig as she had done before making sure not to burn it. Then Menchi blinked, only once, and suddenly the pig had turned into a cake.

"huh?.. HUH?!" Menchi looked between Furina and the cake she was bringing back up towards them the try again.
