I wasn't really in the mood to talk to people so I had shut my phone off and did my work that was due Tuesday. It wasn't anything big but it did take at least 5 hours. I was done around 11 and I was nearly dead.
I walked past my mom and no words came out of her. Like usual. She wasn't a normal mom. She had no care about what we did as long as we were doing well in school and we weren't doing anything illegal. She never talked to me unless I talked first, which usually led to a fight. She loved me, because I was her daughter but didn't show it ever since my dad left us. She adored my brother much more than me, and spoiled my little sister Sophie, who's eight, lots.
My dad abandoned us when he figured out that Sophie had a slight learning disability when she was four. He moved to Chicago, Illinois. We talk, but only twice a month. He knows I'm not too fond of him because of what he did. My mother was always so happy around him; he was the sunshine of her days. Without him, it was just a cloudy mess. She was the ones I got my good looks from. She has perfect shoulder-lengthen medium brown hair, an athletic built body, and hazel eyes. She never needed makeup either. She was a personal trainer at some place where people go to work out when she was with my dad, so that’s where she got the athletic build. Now, she's an executive in-chief for the 'People Magazine' and makes a ton.
I was up in my room, and turned my phone on. I went to the bathroom for a minute to put my hair up in a bun. Once I came back, I had 54 unread messages. Most of them we're from people like Aprils friend Ashley that had spoken to me once, all the way to seniors like Emma Ford cheering me on. I can't believe I'm now popular over this, our society just sickens me encouraging the things I did and had said to Dawn, no way taking it back now though.
April, and her clan obviously texted me asking to hangout this weekend and I got another one that was from Brad "Hey Caroline, so now that you and April are friends and I'm single we should hangout sometime, completely up to you though." I didn’t have care for Brad he was a player, I didn’t even bother reading half of my messages so deleted most until I saw Dawns. "Thanks Caroline. Thank you for showing me the lesbian side I never knew I had. Since I guess I'm lesbian and in love with you I should tell you my deepest secrets. I think- you’re a mean, cold hearted, bitch with no care in the world but yourself. Oh and Thanks for destroying my life. From, Your So-called Lesbian Lover, Dawn<3 Bye." I couldn’t do much about that. I was exactly what I had deserved. She’s just fighting fire with fire.
I wanted to write back, but I couldn't so I deleted every message but hers. Then a few minutes later I get a text from Silas "Hey, You still up?"
So I replied "If you’re going to bitch at me again- No I'm not. If we're just gunna talk- Hi Silas,"
"Ha funny, well hi to you too. But can we meet somewhere?"
"Yeah, sure, Where at?" Did he really want to just talk to me?
"I know it's late and all, but how about that park that no one goes to on Main Street?"
"Yeah, I'll be there in 15 minutes" Then put on a sweatshirt, grabbed my keys and went downstairs.
"Mom! I'm going out!" We didn't get along and all but if I was going out this late at night she wanted to know.
She opened up her bedroom door to yell back "Ok. Don't do anything illegal or stupid" then she shut her door again.
My house isn't far from the park; I lived in Port Clinton, Ohio. Everybody knew everybody. It was a nice little area, I used to always take visits to Put-in bay with my dad when I was younger. I remember always going to the other end of the island where not many people went to so I could drive the golf cart around with him. I loved the ferry rides and passing the houses on the island, while looking out for the one that was a boat on the outside and made into a house on the inside. Then afterwards we'd always go to the Nagoya Restaurant, an amazing Japanese steakhouse on the main lands. But, that didn’t much matter anymore since he wasn’t here.
