Ivypaw stretched, Riverclan cats had come back a little after dawn a moon ago, they had been quiet when they came back signalling their loss. She checked on Dovepaw's wound. Infection was gone but it was still very red. She chewed the yarrow and dock leaves together, hoping it was a good mixture and applied them onto the wound. Dovepaw stayed silent but she new the dock stung.
She saw Squirrelpaw digging the back of the den up more. Their way of escape would be from the back as soon as Windclan's battle cry sounded they'd swim across the river onto Thunderclan's territory and go around into fourtrees and to home. Ivypaw applied the last of the cobwebs to the wound, she would ask Sproutpaw for more. Whistlefall was supplying these herbs but Sproutpaw insisted she give them so if she was caught the clan would have a medicine cat.
She sighed, there was really nothing to do until feeding time except listen to camp conversations but now, camp was silent. Riverclan had lost and no cat was to blame. Lionoak had been killed, their best warrior. Ivypaw yawned and watched as Dovepaw shifted, she must have been feeling the wound more than normal today.
Ivypaw lifted her head after a nap, it was almost dark and there had been no loud noises. Squirrelpaw had reported that Ravenstar had lost a life and Sproutpaw had given more dock leaves and cobwebs along with two mice she'd caught fresh. They hid the prey and sat down as Spotclaw padded into the den with a mouse and fish in his jaws. The same they'd brought them since they first got caught. Ivypaw bent down, tearing the fish into three. Spotclaw and Owlpaw sat guard again, they talked loudly together. "We have basically a feast!" Squirrelpaw twitched her whiskers and pulled the two mice. "Sproutpaw! Where were you?" Ravenstar yowled. Ivypaw darted to the edge of the den, peeking out of the brambles. "Hunting?" Sproutpaw flicked her tail, carrying two fish and a vole. "Is that it? Why do you smell like herbs?" Ravenstar leapt from the rock. Hawkgrowl and Oakwhisker stepped behind her so she couldn't run. "I know what you've been doing." Ravenstar didn't let the apprentice answer. Ivypaw gasped quietly, turning to Squirrelpaw. Squirrelpaw was staring at the water, her eyes closed. "Come on.. Come on.." She whispered then she went silent. Yes, she got in! Ivypaw looked back out. Sproutpaw was cowarding underneath Ravenstar, held down by Hawkgrowl. "Owlpaw! If Lionoak was a good mentor then you'll kill her." Ravenstar called. Owlpaw froze. Ivypaw guessed they were siblings.
