Ivypaw sat up from the Moonstone's side. Turtleheart was silent. "But, Turtleheart, how?" Ivypaw whispered, her ears flat. "I.. I knew." Her mother replied. Ivypaw flinched, "You knew about this prophecy? You didn't tell me?" She hissed. "It wasn't your place. We cant let him be leader yet he isnt ready. For now we'll put a temporary leader up. Come on, we must tell Whiteclaw and Ratfur." Turtleheart went to get up. "But, who will be the temproray leader?" She remained still. "Who do you think we should do?" Turtleheart halted. "Redcall or Whiteclaw? Those are our most trusted warriors." Ivypaw said, "Redcall wants to retire soon, perhaps we could talk him into being temporary leader until our real leader is ready to be?" Turtleheart nodded. "Whiteclaw can act as deputy." She said and padded down the tunnel.
As they arrived back at camp, they stopped to speak to Redcall and Whiteclaw before the meeting. Turtleheart leapt onto Tall rock. "I have words to say!" The medicine cat yowled. The camp filed into the clearing. "Our leader was decided but you will not be impressed im sure. There was a prophecy not yet needed to share but, Stempaw will be our leader." Turtleheart said. Gasps and murmurs looped around camp before Turtleheart continued. "Since he is only eight moons old i have spoken to a few of our warriors. Redcall will act as temporary leader and Whiteclaw will act as our deputy until Stempaw is a warrior. After he gets his warrior name he will travel to get his formal name as leader." She announced. "And if we dont want him as leader?" Owlfeather challenged. Ratfur, Birchwing and Rabbitstrike were nodding along with the brown tom. Anger flooded through her fur and she stood. "Then you deny Starclan? You deny the word of your ancestors?" Ivypaw snapped. Ratfur leapt to his paws. "I think you are liars." He snarled. "You dont think Starclan is right? What are you, a dark forest fool?" She spat. Gasps rounded again, Sheepfur snarled. "Ratfur, you follow the dark forest, dont you?" Ratfur remained silent. "Send him away!" Lilyfrost yowled. Briarfang hurried her kits to the nursery. Sheepfur made sure no cat followed her. "I will not have my kits raised with dark forest cats." Ratfur shook his head. "I wanted the best, to train to know Hawkgrowl and Lionoak's moves! The cats there make sense, they are smart-" Rabbitstrike interrupted him with a yowl of anger and leapt onto him. The siblings rolled around in a fury of claws and teeth. Ivypaw saw Littlewhisker stumble from the medicine den, his half blind eyes looking at his siblings. "Stop!" He screeched. Dovepaw limped up to stand next to him. Ratfur and Rabbitstrike separated. Ivypaw stepped forwards on Tallrock to speak. "Ratfur seemed like he was doing the right thing. For now, he should be under a watchful eye. Sheepfur, you can do it." She decided. Turtleheart nodded and stepped up too. "For all we know he could be just like Hawkgrowl was before the battle. A spy. Until we are sure he will stay under Sheepfur's eye. Everyone sleep. There's a gathering soon." Turtleheart leapt down. Ivypaw followed and yawned.
