CHAPTER 2: A Fateful Encounter with Gelo

(The scene opens in the school hallway during a break between classes. Yan² is walking alone, lost in her thoughts, when she suddenly collides with Gelo, who is rushing to his next class)

Yan²: *stumbles back, flustered* Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there.

Gelo: *steadies Yan²* No, no, it's my fault. I was in a hurry and wasn't paying attention.

(Their eyes meet, and for a moment, time seems to stand still. Yan² feels her heart racing, captivated by Gelo's warm gaze)

Yan²: *blushes* I-I'm sorry, I should have been more careful.

Gelo: *smiles* Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you're alright. Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you around before.

Yan²: *nods* Yes, I just transferred to this school. I'm Yan², it's nice to meet you.

Gelo: *extends his hand* It's a pleasure to meet you, Yan². I'm Gelo. Let me know if you need any help finding your way around.

Yan²: *shakes his hand, feeling a spark of electricity* Thank you, I really appreciate that.

(Marian and Julian, Yan²'s friends, witness the interaction from a distance and exchange a knowing look)

Marian: *nudges Julian* Did you see that? They seem to have hit it off.

Julian: *grins* Yeah, our girl Yan² has definitely caught Gelo's attention.

Marian: *nods* We should probably go talk to her, see how she's doing.

(Marian and Julian approach Yan², who is still a bit flustered from the encounter with Gelo)

Marian: *smiles* Hey, Yan², everything okay? We saw you talking to Gelo.

Yan²: *nods, a hint of a smile on her face* Yeah, I'm fine. We just... bumped into each other, that's all.

Julian: *chuckles* Come on, Yan², we know you better than that. We saw the way you two were looking at each other.

Yan²: *blushes* It was nothing, really. He was just being friendly and offering to help me find my way around.

Marian: *grins* Uh-huh, sure. We're happy for you, Yan². Gelo's a great guy, and it seems like you two hit it off.

Yan²: *smiles shyly* I guess we'll just have to see what happens. I'm just glad to have made a new friend on my first day.

Julian: *nods* That's the spirit, Yan². Now come on, let's get to class before we're late.
