With a sense of excitement and anticipation, I made my way to the chambers of my beloved sister, Elizabeth, to inform her of a surprise that awaited her in the courtyard. As I entered, I was struck by the enchanting dark brown eyes of the young princess that shone with innocence and curiosity. I smiled warmly at her before explaining that our lord father had something special for her.
Elizabeth's governess assisted her in getting ready, and soon she was at my side, her tiny hand clasped in mine. I could sense her eagerness and excitement in her every step, and it made me feel happy to be the bearer of good news.
As we made our way down the hall, Elizabeth shared stories about her new tutors and lessons, which she was proud to have excelled in. I listened with rapt attention, marveling at her intelligence and wit.
As we approached the courtyard, I scoured the area for any signs of activity. I noticed George leading my stepmother, Anne, to the courtyard, and I felt a sense of relief that we had managed to bring them down discreetly, as instructed by our father.
Upon reaching the courtyard, we were greeted with the booming voice of our father, who welcomed us with open arms. He called us the jewels of his court and beckoned us closer. Elizabeth ran to him, and he spun her around in the air, eliciting giggles of joy from her.
Our father then presented us with a surprise gift that he had arranged- a pair of fine-bred animals for both Anne and Elizabeth. The first was a hound with soft brown fur and light markings, followed by her pup. The second was a mare with her foal, both with gentle eyes and dark chestnut fur, perfect for hunting.
Elizabeth's face lit up with sheer delight, and I felt a sense of pride in my father for his thoughtfulness and generosity. It was a moment that I would cherish forever, as it brought our family together in a shared moment of happiness and joy.
