"What are we doing here?" Scott asked as the two opened the doors of Derek's Camaro, allowing the boy to see the Beacons Crossing Home, Beacon Hills long term care facility.

Denver almost had a giddy grin on her face as she practically sped walked to the doors, waving to one of the nurses who she knew well, who would sneak them in.

Getting to the wooden door, Denver slipped in, Derek and Scott behind her, and it seemed as if Denver was in her element here. Scott saw her relax, her posture loosen at the mere sight of the room.

"Hi baby." Denver said as she kissed his cheek softly, brushing back some hair behind his ear. Scott looked even more confused.

"Who is he?" Scott asked. "My husband, Derek's uncle. Peter Hale." Denver told him as she combed her fingers through his growing hair.

"Is he like you?" Scott asked, "A werewolf?" "He was. Now he's barely even human." Derek said and Denver snarled at him, her eyes shinning blue as she snapped at him. "He's still a wolf. Don't talk about him like that." Denver defended her husband from her nephews cruel words.

As he let Denver cool down, Derek pulled Scott to the side. "Six years ago, my sister and I were at school. Our house caught fire. Twelve people were trapped inside. Peter and Denver were the only survivors." "Is that how she got her burns?" Scott asked. "Denver saved her husband, along with trying to save my mother and sister. Peter was beside her until a beam had fallen, trapping him. The rest of my family were downstairs. She made a decision." Derek told him, and that was where it was left.

"So, what makes you so sure that they set the fire?" Scott asked them and Derek scoffed. "Because they're the only ones that knew about us." Derek told the boy, but that wasn't good enough.

"Then, they had a reason." A hiss was heard as they both turned to see an angry Denver Hale. "Like what Scott? Tell me what justifies this!" She growled as she handed him three pictures.

⚠️GORE⚠️

One was of her, a week after the fire, showing off all her burns as documentation. How she was disfigured on one half of her body, her skin quite literally melted off.

⚠️GORE OVER⚠️

The second was of the gravesite, where ten freshly dug graves had just been placed.

And the third was of the burned down house that the McCall boy had seen before, but this photo still had smoke rising from the embers, that's how fresh it was. Forever remembered in film.

"They say they'll only kill an adult, and only with absolute proof. But there were people in our family that were perfectly ordinary in that fire. This is what they do, and this is what Allison will do. Peter never believed in their word, and look where that got him. So I gave them a taste of their own medicine." Denver told the two with a smirk of satisfaction on her face. As both Derek and Scott both looked at her for answers, a nurse came to the door. "What are you doing? How did you get in here?"

"Sorry Jennifer, I just had to say goodnight." Denver said as she kissed Peter on the cheek. "I love you. Sleep tight." She told him as she took her leave, making the other two follow her.

Once they got to the car, Denver stood back. "I'm gonna walk." She told the two. "Are you sure?" Derek asked his aunt and she nodded. He knew talking about the fire made her anxious and angry, so he decided to let it go. "Okay, be safe." He said before getting into the car and driving Scott home.

As she walked, Denver seemed to pick up speed, and soon she was running, her mind on the thing she hated the most.

As Allison Argent stood outside of her house to make a phone call, she noticed the glass that was from her aunts window, making her wonder what actually happened the night before.

What she didn't see was the glaring blue eyes and fangs of Denver Hale that watched her every move.

Hearing the conversation inside, rage boiled over for Denver as her claws extended, a growl coming from her lips. With a flick of her hand, her claws made giant slashes in the metal of Kate's car, and on the passenger side window, Denver breathed on it, fogging it up to draw a symbol, a symbol of revenge.

As she left, a howl, loud enough to shake the windows was heard, making the hunters inside ready themselves instantly. Rushing out, Kate saw her car and Chris's eyes widened. As Denver watched from the tree, she grinned murderously. "Let the games begin."
