It's been six years since that incident. I was really young back then, but I still remember every part of it like it was yesterday. All thanks to this cursed perfect memory of mine. My memory's been really good since I was born, but it got even better after that incident. To think it'd cause me to never forget something like this. Or was it the incident that gave me perfect memory? Sheesh....

The reason he was killed is that he meddled with Anchor, a terrorist organization that's been around for centuries. They've got spies everywhere so any action you take against them will definitely not go unnoticed. I mean, who in their right mind would attack a group that managed to steal scientific data and weaponry from one of the most secure armory in the world? Death wish much?

Sigh...

It's 5 am. I put on my bag and hover boots and head for the window. I live a few hours away from school so I need to head out early. With that, I adjust the slide on my bracelet till a faint green light is visible and jump out the window of the twenty-storey apartment building from the 14th floor. I activate my boots, making me suspend in midair right in front of my window. Many cars are flying about today. As expected of a Monday. I push a button on my right earphone and enter the pedestrian airspace, moving at full speed towards school as I listen to music.

I'm now standing in front of my school, Tillon Academy. From this point on, cell service is cut off. They say it's to make sure we focus on lessons so it's been allowed. I've already planned a way to bypass it. Hehehe. No way some signal jammer is affecting me!

"Stephanie!" I hear a familiar voice call out me. I look to see a girl with shoulder-length blonde hair, clear, gray eyes and fair skin sitting on a hoverboard floating straight towards me. She lands beside me and compresses the board to the size of a notebook.

"Good morning, Julie," I greet.

Julie Lena is my best friend. She's a cheerful girl, but she's a bit airheaded. But surprisingly, she always tops the grade. Don't know how one can be an airhead and still top the grade, but she can. Maybe it's a talent? Who knows.

"C'mon, Steph. Take your appearance more seriously," she says as she pulls back all the hair covering the right side of my face. "You look way cuter with you hair pulled back."

"And I told you that I am. That's the whole reason it's covering my face." I pull my hair back down and sigh. "It draws less attention towards me."

"Please stop joking. Who wouldn't notice the strange girl with shiny, blue eyes who always hides half her face with her beautiful, black hair?" she teases.

"Just drop it, okay?"

"Fine, fine."

We enter the school together. As usual, the feeling of being watched is present. It's not just because of the frequently moving cameras, no. I already have measures in place for those. Rumors are going 'round that Anchor has spies among the students. So most people are watching out for themselves, but that's just stupid. It makes it easier for the spies to do their job, if said spies do exist.

I spot a figure in the hallway. A boy with dark hair, blue eyes, and light brown skin. Great. It's my brother. I'd really like to avoid him as much as possible. Shoot, he's already seen me. Now he's heading over.

"Hey, Steph. Have you been well?" he asks. I don't answer. Rather, I glare at him. He shrugs in response and turns his attention to Julie. "And you must be Julie. Thanks a lot for being my little sister's friend," he says.

"U-uh, sure. It's nothing," Julie nervously replies.

"Well, I'll be going now. Stay safe, alright?" And with that, he left. Honestly, I can't stand him. I know he's going through a lot since he was present when our parents died, but that doesn't matter to me one bit.
