I slowly opened my eyes and found myself lying across the small opening of the cave, facing the entrance. I sat up, yawned, and tried to recall the day. Eventually, I remembered that today was the day I was supposed to leave with my parents. My dad should be arriving any time now. However, I couldn't help feeling scared. Being born away from the pack you belong to is considered a disgrace, even though my parents have assured me that the rest of the pack isn't like that. Nonetheless, I am still apprehensive.

I looked around, feeling groggy from sleep. I saw a still shape, the only indication that it was alive was the steady rise and fall of her sleeping form-my mother. She had sleek grey and black fur and wonderful brown eyes. I noticed what I always do when I look at my parents: I look nothing like them. My fur was an uninterrupted white, through and through. They don't even have white fur in their families. It makes me feel embarrassed.

I turned and gently nuzzled her with my nose, being careful not to wake her up. She had the sweet scent of a meadow in full bloom, swept by the wind. I moved away from her and stepped outside, feeling the cold air on my face. I wasn't bothered by the cold at all. It felt good on my paws as I walked in the snow. I breathed in and the smells came rushing in. I remembered what they would say about my birthday,

"I remember the night you were born," my dad would say. "It was during a terrible snowstorm. Snow, sleet, and hail were blasting everyone from all sides. Your mother and I were out there searching for shelter when suddenly, she went into labor. She claims she didn't know that a snowstorm was coming and just wanted some fresh air after being cooped up inside for months. But I knew we were in trouble. The snow was getting heavier, the wind was howling, and we needed to find a safe place fast."

He paused for a moment as if to remember the details. "Eventually, we found a cave, but just as your mother was about to give birth, the snow burst in, swallowing us all. It was chaos. But somehow, we managed to get you out safely."

My mom just smiled and shook her head at my dad's dramatic retelling of my birth story. But I could sense the worry in his voice as if he was reliving that night all over again.

As I emerged from my memories, I found myself back in the present world. The scent of rabbits and mice filled my nostrils, and I could sense their movements around me. When I concentrated on my surroundings, I could see the burrows in the ground and feel the soft touch of the prey's footsteps. I didn't quite understand how this happened, but the sensation always disappeared when I blinked.

Suddenly, I heard paws tapping the ground and looked up to investigate. A large wolf with black and dark grey fur emerged from the nearby trees. I was overjoyed to see him and let out a happy bark, "Dad!" I ran up to him and gave him a loving nuzzle. He chuckled and returned the gesture. His voice was deep yet gentle when he asked, "What are you doing out here? Is your mother keeping an eye on you?" I took a step back and shook my head, my tail wagging rapidly with excitement. He gave me a stern look, and I lowered my head. "You know you're not supposed to be out here by yourself," he replied. "I understand, but when I woke up, Mother was still asleep, and she's usually up before me. She seemed tired," I explained.

He shifted into a human and placed a hand on my head, so I shifted too. He was always so tall when me and Mom were short. It made me mad sometimes, but what could I do? "I know you thought you were doing a good thing," he said, his hand still on my head. "But that doesn't mean you should put yourself in danger by not following the rules." I knew he was right, but Mom works so hard to provide for me...

I nodded in agreement. He let out a sigh, then headed towards the den and I followed closely behind. He approached my mom and whispered something in her ear. I couldn't hear what he said, but I made a face in disgust. Mom shifted and turned to look at us, still half-asleep. She blinked a few times, then sprang up, frantically searching for me. "Snow? Where's Snowstar? I didn't hear her leave-", she asked, clearly worried. I stepped out from behind my dad and ran to her, giving her a tight hug. "I'm right here, Mom. I didn't go far," I said, smiling up at her. She relaxed and stroked my head with her hand. "You scared me. You know you're not supposed to be alone," she said, smiling slightly. I twisted my lips to one side and looked up at her. "I know. Dad already scolded me about it, and I'm sorry. I am!" I said, standing on my tiptoes to seem taller.

She laughed and placed her hands on my cheeks. "Are you excited to go home? I'm sure everyone will be thrilled to meet you," she reassured me. I tried to get excited, but I just couldn't. I guess I showed it in my face because her face shifted to one of light concern and she tilted her head slightly. "Are you worried? I won't let anyone hurt you." She said, smiling "I know, Mom and I know they won't hurt me, it's just-" I couldn't find the words. . I tried to get excited, but I just couldn't. She said, smiling "I know, Mom and I know they won't hurt me, it's just-" I couldn't find the words. She seemed to understand and hugged me tighter. "Don't be worried, Baby. Everything will go great."

At that, I relaxed. I smiled up at her and nodded. She smiled and nodded back. Dad came up and kissed Mom on the forehead. Nasty. I stuck my tongue out to the side. They laughed and Dad kissed me too. I shook my head, even though I felt like I would float to the sky when they did that. Their love for each other made me happy that they loved one another so much but also was nasty to me. I had mixed feelings about it all the time, it made me confused sometimes. They shifted into wolves and trotted outside, then turned to look at me.

I took a deep breath and then ran out as a wolf toward them.

I don't know how long it took to get there because I was sleeping. I know it's lazy of me but give me a break! I was young and still took naps. Suddenly, I woke up to find myself dropped in the snow. I looked around for a minute, searching for my parents. However, they were nowhere near me, and I couldn't see or smell them. So, I sat on my haunches and looked up. It was nearly sunset. I transformed into a human, stood up, and looked around. Suddenly, something hit me hard from behind.

"Ack!" I yelped and turned while I fell. When I opened my eyes, I saw the most gorgeous bright brown eyes that I had ever seen. He had curly black hair and appeared to be about my age. He was lying on top of me, his small hands in the snow, keeping him off my chest. He gazed into my eyes for what seemed like an eternity before lifting his head and looking around. Suddenly, a twig snapped, and he quickly got up, mumbled an apology, then ran off in the direction he came from. I wondered if I would ever have the chance to see him again.

I suddenly heard growling. I quickly turned around and looked at the trees, attempting to figure out where the sound was coming from. I saw dark shapes moving through the spaces between the trees and realized they were wolves. They surrounded me, forming a tight circle. But I wasn't afraid, not even a bit. I transformed into a wolf and growled back at them. The snow started swirling around me, getting faster and faster.

One of them, who seemed to be the youngest, approached me while snarling and showing his teeth. He said, 'Well, well, well. Look at what we have here. A lost little pup. Where is your mother, pup?' He emphasized the word 'pup' as if it was an insult. I snarled back at him without backing down, even if he was a full adult. He wasn't.

He growled threateningly, asking, "What's wrong?" He then started circling me, and I matched his pace. "Your face, that's what!" I barked back. His snarl deepened and he stopped. "You're dead!" He shouted and lunged at me, his teeth snapping at my neck.

A/N: DAMN!!! SO. MANY. WORDS!! I never thought this would happen, holy crap! Just to be clear, They aren't Werewolves, but a mixture of the way I see them. They are wolves, but I also want them to be human......I guess they are Werewolves...... Whatever, Thanks for making it this far and reading my book! It means a lot to my cold, empty heart.
