The Bet

Chapter 4

"Madeline we're home!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs.

"Ok" I turned over a went back to sleep.

When I woke up at 2 in the afternoon I grabbed breakfast and watched some Netflix. There was a knock on my front door and I went to go open it. It was Carlisle but his face was bloody and his knuckles swollen and red.

"What the hell happen to you?" I asked as I opened the door more for him to get in.

"You don't wanna know, now help me to your room" he whined as he walked into my house. "Are your parents home?" He asked.

"No, I just woke up a while ago" I said freaking out at this point.

"Maddy we need to go to your room" he said and I just nodded my head.

Getting up the stairs with Carlisle was hard but my adrenaline was pumping so we made it up to my bathroom. Carlisle let himself drop go my floor and I went and got our first aid kit and my dads doctor tools. When I walked back into the room Carlisle had his shirt off and I saw a bullet hole.

"Vodka, I need vodka" he said in between breaths and I ran downstairs and grabbed the first bottle of vodka I could find.

"Here" I said handing him the bottle.

He took a big gulp of the bottle and then he poured some on his wound. He grunted and I was shocked and couldn't move.

"Maddy!" Carlisle was holding my shoulders. "I need you to get out the bullet, you understand me" I felt my eyes cloud but I pushed back the tears.

"I can't" I began saying but I was cut off.

"Maddy if you don't help me I'll die, just take it out I'll do the rest" he said reassuring me.

        My hands were shaking at this point and I let one tear fall. Carlisle cupped my face and looked defeated he sighted and grabbed the big tweezers. I grabbed his hand to stop him and I took it from him. I turned on a flash light and had him hold it, I grabbed on to the bullet and dropped on a towel.

"Son of bitch" Carlisle took another gulp from the bottle and then dropped some again on the bullet hole.

"Is there anything else I can help with?" I asked.

"I need something to sew this up or I'm going to bleed out" I got up and ran to my parents room I grabbed a needle and a thread and ran back to my room.

Carlisle was passed out. I ran to him and checked his pulse, he was still alive. I dropped vodka on the needle and on his wound one more time and began sewing his wound shut. I grabbed a towel and cleaned around the wound and I went to get rubbing alcohol. I dumped on him and he jolted up and groaned in pain.

"Thank god" I said letting a breath out.

"Fuck Maddy that burnt" I giggled because I didn't know what else to do.

I helped him up and he looked at his side where I had sewed his wound. I smiled and then he walked slowly to my bed.

"I'll be back" I went to the bathroom and grabbed some pain killers.

"Thanks" Carlisle took three and swallowed them.

"Are you sure you're ok?" I asked again.

"Yes I'm fine I just need to rest for a while. Can I get some water I need to get more blood in my system" he sat up on my bed and I went to the kitchen. I brought a cup of water and a small pitcher for his water.

"Here drink up" I said.

       I let him rest so I went to the living room and watched some tv. And 6:30 I started to get ready, Carlisle was still sleeping in my bed. I went on my room quietly and went and grabbed clothes. I changed in my parents room and I had left a note for Carlisle. I grabbed my house key, my bag and a water bottle. I locked my door but my bag on my back and ran to the underground fighting. I checked in with the bouncer that's outside and went inside to look for Lana.

"Hey Lana girl" I said and hugged her.

"Hey Maddy, welcome to the underground" she winked and I hugged everyone else.

        Lana was training me when two guys walked up to us and I've seen them before at my school. I rolled my eyes and they began flirting with us.

"So do you have a boyfriend?" One of the guys asked me.

"Actually I do" I smiled and the guys laughed.

"We'll he doesn't have to find out" the guy kept pushing.

"He will trust me, and he'll probably murder you and trust me he'll get away with it" I smirked.

"Yea right" he laughed again.

"Come here" I told him to come down to my level.

"My boyfriend his last name is Winchester you put two and two together" his face was so priceless I laughed so hard.

"Let get outta here" he told his friend and I waved bye.

I giggled and I turned to Lana, she asked what I told him but I didn't respond. We went back to training and after about two hours we went to go watch some fight. We bet on some of the fights and I got 5 thousand dollars. Before the night was over it was 1 in the morning I saw Carlisle. My eyes widen and I hid behind some tall guys, I watched his movement closely but not enough for him to notice. I grabbed Lana and said I had to go but as I was leaving.

"Madeline hey" I bumped into Grayson.

"Hey gray, and you know you can call me Maddy right" I said and I began walking.

"We'll Maddy I was wondering do you maybe wanna go out sometime just you and me?" He asked and I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Oh Grayson, I'm sorry I um sort of have a boyfriend" I said.

"Oh I understand, don't think I'll give up that easily" he winked at me and I smiled.

"I'll see you later, I gotta go" I said and started to leave but Grayson grabbed my arm.

"Let me walk you I know you didn't drive here"he smiled and I nodded my head.

"Thank yo-" I was cut off my a voice I knew.

"Let her go, don't touch her" Carlisle's accent was stronger.

"You know him Maddy?" Grayson let go of my arm. 

"Yes he's my boyfriend" I said.

"Yes her boyfriend, now walk away"

"Carlisle" looked at Carlisle and gave him a look.

"Lets go Maddy" Carlisle shot lasers at Grayson and Grayson smirked.

"Bye gray" I turned around and followed Carlisle.

"Carlisle wait" I pushed by people and I saw Carlisle talking to a girl.

      I stopped in my tracks and just stared there blank. I scuffed at the fact that he put our "fake" relationship at stake. I pulled my hood up and walked out into an alley way. I started my walk home until a car pulled up next to me. I ignored it and kept walking but I picked up my pace. I hers the car stop and a door open, I was going to began to run until I was shoved up against the wall.

"Well well what do we have here" I guy said and I could smell alcohol in his breath.

"Leave me the fuck alone" I said and kneed him in the balls.

       I began running yelling for help but the guy caught up to me. He grabbed my and pulled me to an alley way. God I hope someone comes to help me. I then heard Carlisle's voice. I bit the guys hand and yelled.

"Carlisle!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Help!" I yelled one more time.

       The man punched my face and I fell to the ground. Before I knew it the man was being ripped from off of me and I saw Carlisle. He began punching the man over and over again until he didn't fight back. Carlisle kneeled down to my side and pushed my hair back and picked me up. I passed out as we we're walking to what I'm assuming is Carlisle's car. Last think I remember was being laid down somewhere soft.
