Dazai stared at Chuuya with a deadpan expression, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Are you serious?" he questioned, his tone tinged with incredulity.
Chuuya held his gaze steadily, a hint of nervousness flickering in his eyes. "Yeah," he replied, his voice surprisingly firm.
Dazai tilted his head, considering Chuuya's offer for a moment. "Hmmm, well, I do have some free time in a couple of days from now," he mused aloud, a sly smile playing at the corners of his lips. "And I could definitely use the free food."
Chuuya's eyebrows shot up in irritation. "Are you seriously using me as your wallet?" he retorted, his frustration bubbling to the surface.
But Dazai simply shrugged, unfazed by Chuuya's accusation. "Yeah, well, consider it a mutually beneficial arrangement," he replied with a smirk. "Besides, who could resist the opportunity to spend time with me?"
Chuuya rolled his eyes, a mixture of irritation and amusement flashing across his features. "Fine," he conceded begrudgingly. "But don't expect me to foot the entire bill."
With a chuckle, Dazai threw an arm around Chuuya's shoulders, pulling him into a playful half-hug. "Wouldn't dream of it, Chuuya," he replied, his voice dripping with mock sincerity. "After all, it's all about equality in a modern relationship, isn't it?"
Chuuya arched an eyebrow, skepticism etched into his features. "Modern relationship? What are you talking about, Dazai?" he questioned, his tone a mix of confusion and amusement.
Dazai waved a dismissive hand, his grin widening into a smirk. "Oh, nothing, nothing," he replied nonchalantly, though there was a mischievous twinkle in his eyes that didn't escape Chuuya's notice.
"No, seriously, what do you mean?" Chuuya pressed, nudging Dazai's side with his elbow. "Are you trying to imply something?"
Dazai feigned innocence, placing a hand over his heart in mock offense. "Im-ply something? Me?" he protested, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Nah. I'm simply suggesting that we approach this date as equals, both contributing equally to the experience."
Chuuya raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Right," he muttered, though a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Because that's definitely your usual approach to things."
Dazai shrugged, his grin widening into a mischievous smirk. "Hey, I can be progressive when it suits me," he quipped, his tone dripping with playful sarcasm.
Chuuya rolled his eyes, a fond exasperation tugging at the corners of his lips. "Sure, Dazai, whatever you say," he replied.
Dazai flashed Chuuya a quick grin before feigning a yawn and stretching dramatically. "Well, Chuuya, it's been fun, but I think it's time for me to head home. Bye bye!" he announced, already starting to saunter away.
Chuuya rolled his eyes, but a small smile played at the corners of his lips. "Yeah, yeah, see you later, Dazai," he called after him, waving dismissively.
But just as Dazai was about to disappear around the corner, it hit him. Where would they even go for this so called Date? "Hey, wait a minute! Where do you wanna go!" he exclaimed, jogging to catch up with the brunette.
Dazai paused, turning back to face Chuuya with an amused glint in his eye. "Oh, right," he replied with faux innocence. "Well, where do you suggest, my dear Chuuya?"
Chuuya pondered for a moment, his brow furrowing in concentration. "There's a festival coming up soon," he suggested, a spark of excitement lighting up his features. "We could go to that."
Dazai's eyes widened ever so slightly, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. The festival was notorious for being a romantic hotspot, filled with couples enjoying the festivities together. But before he could voice his reservations, Chuuya continued, oblivious to the implications.
