Damian POV: Saturday, July 5th, 2024

Watching Marinette slip further and further away from me was like watching my world crumble before my eyes. The girl I loved, my Angel, was no longer the vibrant, determined force of nature I once knew. Instead, she had become a mere shadow of herself, a hollow shell twisted by the Joker's wicked games.

Yesterday was the Fourth of July, a day meant for celebration and freedom. A stupid tradition built on lies and deception. But for Marinette, there was no freedom from the torment that consumed her mind. Instead, she spent the day locked away in her room, exhibiting strange behavior that sent shivers down my spine.

But it was what happened under the cover of darkness that truly chilled me to the bone. Marinette sneaking out, her movements silent and purposeful, like a predator stalking its prey. I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in the pit of my stomach as I followed her into the night.

Alya's words echoed in my mind, her suspicions casting doubt upon the girl I had sworn to protect. Was Angel truly bad, corrupted by the darkness that lurked within her? Or was there still a glimmer of hope, a chance to save her from the clutches of evil?

As I trailed Marinette through the shadows, my worst fears were realized. She met with five of the most notorious villains in the DC universe, each one more sinister than the last. I recognized them immediately—the Joker, Lex Luthor, Ra's al Ghul, Black Mask, and Lady Shiva.

My blood ran cold as I watched them exchange words, their voices low and menacing. There was no mistaking their intentions—they were planning something big, something that spelled disaster for the world as we knew it. And Marinette, my sweet Marinette, was caught in the middle of it all.

With a sense of urgency burning in my chest, I called for backup, knowing that I couldn't face them alone. But before help could arrive, I knew I had to confront the group head-on, to put an end to their nefarious plans once and for all.

Stepping out of the shadows, I faced them with determination, my fists clenched at my sides. "You won't get away with this," I growled, my voice dripping with contempt.

The villains turned to face me, their expressions a mixture of amusement and disdain. But I refused to back down, standing my ground against the darkness that threatened to consume us all.

A fierce battle ensued, each blow exchanged fueled by years of training and determination. I fought with everything I had, knowing that the fate of the world hung in the balance.

But it was when I faced Marinette, her eyes vacant and devoid of emotion, that my resolve wavered. She was no longer the girl I loved, but a mere puppet in the hands of evil. She was no longer the Angel I fell for; she was much crueler. And as much as it pained me to admit it, I knew that I had no choice but to capture her, to protect the world from the darkness that threatened to consume it.

With a heavy heart, I subdued Marinette, her struggles growing weaker with each passing moment. As I looked into her eyes, I saw a flicker of recognition, a glimmer of the girl she once was buried deep within the darkness that now surrounded her.

But it was too late for her, for us. The damage had been done, and no amount of fighting could undo the horrors that had been unleashed. As I dragged her away from the scene, I couldn't help but wonder if there was any hope left for her, or if she was truly lost to the darkness forever.
