It was 1919 the last time the Mikaelsons had stepped foot in New Orleans since the great fire of the Louisiana French Opera House on December 4th. Whatever had scared them off seemed to have followed them to Mystic Falls but had been taken care of by the beautiful witch herself so their home was waiting for their return...

Only if it hadn't moved on without them, having someone else at the head of all the decisions including the ins and outs of New Orleans, and by someone they knew for a very long time.

Unfortunately, for them, it was not the noble brother who would return first, but the feared, unpredictable wild card. He could change his stance in an instant if necessary. Now, he was back to find his great city under the control of someone he saw as a son. How could they forget him? How could the city forget him? And, most importantly, could he make the city safe for his child?

Not on his own of course.

One quick phone call and his siblings were right by his side looking over the French Quarter, "Niklaus are you sure this is the best course of action? Coming back here? After the knowledge of that baby being in danger-"

"Elijah, the babe is in danger wherever they go." Rebekah retored giving Klaus a look. "At least our selfish brother Klaus gets a crown out of it"

Klaus narrowed his eyes at Rebekah before sighing, "Well would you rather we live on the run for the rest of our lives?" He asked them, gesturing to the world "The babe living in the shadows, forever looking over his or her shoulders?"

"Yet I cannot help to see how this will be any better," Elijah said putting his hand in his pocket as he turned to his two younger siblings, "The city is at war between the witches and vampires and you want Bonnie, the one witch who has put up with war between us and her friends here to fight another battle? Another battle she'll probably die for?"

Klaus let out an irritated groan, "But he has a vampire army, Elijah" he says looking out at the city from the balcony. "They could be loyal to her and to the babe... she could be protected here"

Rebekah went to scold him but was silenced when Elijah stopped her, sitting his hand on Klaus shoulder before speaking, "And what if this endeavor ends badly?"

"Then we make them bend the knee to my child and Bonnie or there will be hell to pay."
