The following morning, after getting out of Stiles' Jeep, I spotted Scott outside the school. He'd texted us he needed to tell us something super important and to meet him there, but honestly all I cared about was how last night went for him. The two of us began to walk from the parking lot towards him, side by side, and I nudged my brother. "I bet you $10 he didn't get a single strike."Stiles turned his head to me, thinking for a moment before nodding, putting his hand out and I smiled as I shook it. "Oh, you're on sunshine."
This was going to be the easiest $10 I've ever made.
"Hey Scott." I beamed at him as we finally reached his side, and he gave us a small smile, though it was pretty obvious he was definitely just putting it on to be polite. "So...how was your date?"
"My date?" Scott raised his brows as if he'd forgotten. "Oh, right yeah, it was...it was actually really good. With Allison, at least." An actual real smile creeps on his face at the memory.
"Did you get a strike?" Stiles doesn't even bother to hear anything else that happened, only caring about our bet.
Scott furrows his eyebrows. "I mean, I was terrible at first. It was so bad, Jackson was laughing at me, but then Allison said something and then boom, I mean it was like something clicked and I was getting strikes every single time."
My brother immediately booms, jumping on the spot. "Boom! Oh, I am so proud of you buddy." He grabs Scott's shoulder, who looks immensely confused as I roll my eyes, pulling a $10 bill out my pocket in annoyance. I narrow my eyes at Stiles who puts his hand out and I slam it down on his palm.
"Thank you, little sis." He smirks, showing off his bill to Scott.
"Did you guys seriously make a bet I wouldn't score?" Our best friend's eyes dart inbetween us.
I shrug. "I mean you are terrible at bowling. Well, I guess you were."
"Well me being great at bowling isn't all so great." He sighs. "Jackson said he's onto me. He thinks I'm on drugs or something weirder, but he knows something's up."
I shake my head at him. "Don't worry about Jackson. The guys way too dumb to figure anything out, like at all."
"Madi's right, I mean did you not hear him yesterday?" Stiles adds on, and I let out a small chuckle at the memory of him confusing a cougar and mountain lion as different animals, and getting to call him a dumbass.
"Well he's not the only one. Blake looked like he could sense something was wrong too. I mean he didn't say anything, but I could just feel it." He looks down.
I furrow my eyebrows. "Hold on - Blake went bowling? With Jackson? And Lydia?"
"He went with Kelsey. He said she begged him to go." Scott shrugged. "He definitely didn't wanna be there."
