"So are we going to this party tonight?" Stiles asks as we sit besides each other opposite Scott for lunch, the following day at school.I shake my head, biting into my sandwich. "No way. Sounds lame."
"Actually...I'm going. With Allison." Scott smiles, proud of himself and my eyes immediately shoot up meeting his as I try to hide the horror on my face.
"Sorry, what?" I question in shock.
Stiles, however, looks just as proud as his best friend does. "Oh hell yeah, how'd you manage that?"
"She hit a dog." Scott vaguely responds and I await the rest of the story but he doesn't continue speaking.
I roll my eyes. "And then what? The dog woke up and asked her to go to a party with you?"
Scott furrows his eyebrows at my clearly fabricated retelling of what happened. "No. We talked and then I asked her if she wanted to come with me and she said yes."
"That easy?" Stiles raised his brows curiously.
I had no words at all. I mean Scott liking her was one thing, but I'd been soothing myself with the idea he had no shot with her if she was in Lydia's clique - I had no idea how wrong I'd been. And now my chances at Scott ever actually liking me back were diminishing in front of my eyes by the second.
I sighed. "Well, Blake's gonna be pissed at you. I'm pretty sure he only planned on going to try hook up with her."
Scott shrugs. "Well, he can find someone else, it's not like that's gonna be hard for him."
Speaking of Blake, I watched his best friend, Amethyst, approached our table, smiling at the three of us, though the smile she gave Stiles was definitely a lot bigger than Scott and I's, as she walked closer. "Hey guys. Scott, my dad just wanted me to tell you the dog you found last night is gonna be okay and you did a good job helping him out."
Scott nods with a small smile looking up at the girl. "Thanks, Amy."
"Are you guys going to the party tonight?" She beamed, her eyes questioning as they lingered on Stiles.
"Scott is. He's going with Allison." Stiles raised his brows at his best friend with a smirk.
"Oh! Okay, well Blake is gonna be pissed when he hears that, all he's been talking about is that new girl. So are you not going?" She looks directly at my brother, before remembering I'm also there. "You two, I mean."
"I'm not really into third wheeling, personally, but Stiles might be." I answer.
But my brother shakes his head. "Nah, Madi's right."
I feel bad noticing Amy's disappointed face at his answer. If only his dumbass could peel his eyes off of Lydia for 5 minutes, he'd realise there's a girl a million times better right in front of him.
"Alright." She bounces, painting on a smile. "Well let me know if you two change your mind, I'd love to hang." She smiles before turning to Scott. "See you there, Scotty."
She then turns on her heel and walks away, and I watch after her for a moment. "She's really lovely, don't you think?" I turn to Stiles.
He takes a bite of his own food. "Who Amy? Yeah, she is." He responds before swiftly taking another bite, and I roll my eyes at his obliviousness.
—
I stumbled into Stiles' room and smiled faintly, as I leaned on the doorway. Scott was coming over in a few minutes, and the lonely boredom had finally kicked in so I decided it was time to annoy my brother. He was sat by his computer looking quite suspicious, and knowing my brother - he was up to no good. "Hey!" I announced my pressensce.
