The first thing that catches his eye are those dull blue eyes, narrowed and glaring with an unreadable glint. The second are the soft-looking blonde locks with two pointed lightning horns sticking out of them, framing red-streaked cheeks in a messy, wild manner. The third is his lithe, slender frame accentuated by a body-fit black shirt, wide-legged black pants, and small boots, an outfit only made possible by casting away the part of the Royal Knights uniform that holds the emblems of the Clover Kingdom.

"Luck?" Magna calls out to the familiar figure standing on top of a ruined building and holding one hand out towards a big pile of rubble. The air around his fingers crackle, as though they just finished launching a bolt of lightning. "Luck! What the hell's going on here?"

Right next to him, Vanessa gasps in disbelief from the sheer destruction before them. "Just what are you trying to do!?"

They're promptly ignored. Instead, the figure puts up another hand and rains down a thousand bolts upon them. They dodge out of sheer instinct, just barely getting grazed by the attack. All around them, they can hear the townspeople screaming.

"Damn it... Luck!" Magna grits his teeth and takes his grimoire out. That may be his best friend, but he's not just going to sit there and take his bullshit.

"Cut it out!" Vanessa crouches to pick up a rock, and throws it at Luck with startling accuracy. It catches his attention, and he tilts his head as he scrutinizes them for a moment.

"Luck? Oh, him. I think he wanted to see someone. Is it one of you?" Those dull blue eyes narrow into a glare, regarding them with a coldness he's never seen from Luck before. "Too bad, though! Because of the reincarnation spell, this body belongs to me, Rufel, now."

"Reincarnation... spell? Rufel?" He raises an eyebrow and takes a step forward. This isn't making any sense, dammit. Every inch of his body is telling him that's Luck, but his heart screams otherwise. "The hell are you babbling on about!?"

"M-Magna. It's not him." He looks back to see that Vanessa's expression is conflicted, and she recoils when she spares a glance at the figure in front of them. "Someone's taken over Luck's body!"

"Someone... else?" He wracks his head for a bit, and almost smacks himself when he comes to the realization. He's so stupid. How could he forget? "You mean those... Eye of the Midnight Sun guys!?"

She nods, and he can already see the mass of strings forming around her. "Most likely."

"Tch. Doesn't matter who it is. All I know is that that's not Luck, and I'm going to bring him back, dammit!"

Magna lets magic accumulate in the palm of his hand despite how shaky and unstable it is, and he takes a deep breath. Right. Concentrate on the properties, not the strength. This is serious. He needs to get his act together before Luck's body does more harm. It doesn't have to be perfect. It can start off small, he just needs to be able to keep doing it. He pulls one half of his body back, his arm muscles pulling as he stretches them to the limit.

"I'll burn you to a fucking crisp." He mutters under his breath, and puts his entire weight into the throw. The one big fireball breaks off into smaller ones, all honing in on his target. "Flame Magic: Explosive Scattershot!"
