"What?" You asked, perplexed by the news that was trending of Eli and you. "Take a look at this." Your manager handed you pictures. You took them from her grasp. Your jaw dropped. When was this? I don't remember kissing him. You frowned. They're getting better at editing pictures. "This didn't happen. Why not just tell us we're not dating?"
"They're not edited, Y/N." You tossed the pictures on the table. I bet the live only confirmed their delusion. Fuck's sake.
"Wouldn't the best solution be to date. I mean, to confirm our relationship. In other words, to confirm the rumor." Eli, who was quiet the whole time suddenly spoke. "No. There has to be another solution." "There isn't." Her manager snapped at her. She blamed everything on Y/N. She knew how Eli behaved. She should have notified her about Eli traveling with her. You stared at her. "You can't be serious." Please, let it be a joke. Your manager shook her head. "I wish I was." Eli smirked. "Don't pout, Y/N. It's me. Your Eli. Afterall, this is pretend." You sighed. You felt cornered. It's just Eli. At least it's him and not some stranger. You rubbed your temple.
"Fine. Let's just make a simple announcement." Eli made eye contact with her manager and shook his head. The manager paled at Eli's glare. "Uhh, we'll see. I mean, I'll check and do my best."
Eli and you were at the store. It had been a week since the meeting. You were livid at how the announcement was done. You and Eli revealed your relationship through a photoshoot. A photoshoot that made you want to shove the camera down your manager's throat.
Your phone buzzed nonstop when the news went viral on every platform. Your bandmates were shocked. They knew Eli was close to you, but they never assumed that you would return his feelings. Nonetheless, they respected your decision on dating him.
"Excuse me, do you happen to know where I can find the sugar?" A man asked you. You pulled out your earphone and faced him. "Aisle 7." You knew because you shopped frequently at this grocery store. "Thank you." The man said, looking at you. The man frowned. Her eyes look familiar. You tugged your hoodie over your head to cover your face. It was dyed and you knew better than anyone that a fan could spot you with just seeing your eyes.
Eli picked up your favorite snack and walked back to you. I don't want to keep my love waiting. He spotted you with a man and his eyes narrowed at the man. Who is that? Forget that. What is he doing standing so close to Y/N?
"Babe, I got your favorite snack." He walked up. He put the snack in the cart. He wrapped an arm around your waist. "Who's this?" Eli asked you. "He asked me where the sugar was." Eli raised an eyebrow. And he couldn't look for it. Couldn't he just ask an employee? Why bother my Y/N? "Yeah, it was aisle 7 right?" The man asked, looking at her with a smile. Eli's eyes widened. Is he smiling? Can't he take a hint? "Yes. Aisle 7." You felt Eli tighten his grip on you. He must be nervous with the attention. "Eli." You glanced at Eli. Eli looked away from the man. "Yes."
"Let's go home." Eli smiled. He had a crazed stare in his eyes. Home. Our home. Does that mean she wants to move in with me? Is this her way of her asking me? She claimed me. You pushed the car, leaving the man behind. Before turning the corner, he looked back at the man and threw him an evil grin. Next time. No. There won't be a next time.
