"Jae have you seen my hoodie!?"
Heachan yelled from upstairs
"Which one!?"
Jaehyun yelled back
"The big grey one with the frog stitching in the corner!"
The man chuckled
"That's my hoodie!
Haechan went downstairs
"Is it? Cause the last I checked you gave it to me when I spent the night at your house"
Jaehyun gave a warm smile
"You remembered"
He said softly kissing the boys forehead
Haechan wrapped his arms around the man's neck
"Of course how could I forget"
He says kissing the man on the nose
"You made me so happy at the time, sometimes you even made me feel strong enough to go home to my mom, she drank so much at night and I wanted to help but I couldn't and even now I'm still trying to think about what I could've done differently. Maybe our relationship could've been better...maybe"
Jaehyun sigh and caressed his cheek
"I understand that but you should know it's not your fault and it's not your responsibility to take care of your drunk mother, that's a problem she has to tackle on her own. If she doesn't realize her mistake for herself she'll never change"
Haechan nodded
"I know"
He said quietly
"Sometimes I just can't help but think how different things could've gone, y'know?"
The man pecked him on the lips
"I know, but we have each other now and that's all that matters"
Haechan chuckled
"Your right all I need is you"
Jaehyun picked him up with a big smile
"You don't know how happy you make me sunshine"
The younger nodded
"Me too"
Suddenly Jaehyun got a call and put him down
"Hold on baby I gotta take this"
He stepped out of the room and took the call
Haechan sat down on the couch watching tv finding it a bit weird because his boyfriend never stepped away to take calls
Jaehyun finished the call and sighed
"I gotta get to work, duty calls"
He kissed the younger on the cheek and walked out of the house before he could be questioned
When Jaehyun got outside he sighed and pulled out the empty black box
Time to go ring shopping
He got out of his car and drove to jewelry place
"Are you shopping for your girlfriend?" The lady at the counter asked curiously
Jaehyun smiled
"Boyfriend. I want a diamond ring, something that shines...just like him"
He says softly
The lady's eyes widen
"B-boyfriend....ok let's see what we got"
She smiles and points out some good ones
"I like the silver one a lot, and I like the diamond too"
He picks up the ring inspecting it
"It's so good seeing people get married, couldn't be me thought"
The lady sighs
"Why?"
She looks at the ring sadly
"My boyfriend asked me to marry him...I couldn't do it, my parents slit up and fought a lot so I vowed I'd never get married...I'm afraid it's gonna end up being just like how my parents were"
Jaehyun nods and his mind goes to haechan
I...didn't think about that...hes been through so much, what if he feels that way about marriage? I didn't even ask him how he felt about any of this
He sigh and bought the ring putting it in the black box
I need to know how he feels about marriage without asking him
