Jisungs eyelids flutter open, revealing that he is in the bedroom he was given in Minho's house. Minho. Oh, Minho. He suddenly remembered what he almost did before his father interrupted. The sin he almost committed again. But now, he doesn't have a father, no one to stop him but himself. Jisung smiles to himself, his father was dead. He should be sad, crying over his body but he wasn't. He was free.

Right?

He headed downstairs, stopping when he hears voices in the dining room.

"1 million?"

"Yes, and we can't find his wife."

"So, it will go to Jisung?"

"Unfortunately, yes-"

"What goes to me?" Jisung interrupts the conversation with the family. All of their heads snap towards him. They all look worried or annoyed, especially Minho but as soon as the younger enters, his expression softens. He quickly stands and rushes towards him, jumping into his arms.

"You're awake!" he exclaims, stepping back,

"You fainted a couple hours ago after..." He paused and Jisung smiled.

"My father jumped out the window." He replied, the older was surprised by his reaction but assumes he has his reasons. He grabs the youngers hand and drags him to the table,

"We have something important to talk about."

----

"So, my dad lost a million dollars at your casino and was supposed to pay you back but didn't and now my mum is supposed to find it but since she disappeared now, I have to do it?"

"Yes, now that you are eighteen, you will pay back the debt by working for us as a maid."

Oh... yeah, I turned eighteen. He had forgotten he turned eighteen. There wasn't even a celebration. It was the day he had been kicked out.

"Right, right. Because that's normal." Jisung rolled his eyes, annoyed at his dad for putting him into this shit position.

"You can start work tomorrow, you will work 5 days a week with Saturdays and Sundays off, unless you want to work, for 50 dollars and hour, 8 hours a day."

"How long will it take for me pay of the entire debt?"

"Only about 2.8 years." Minho finishes. (Pls ignore if I did the math wrong)

"2 YEARS. Of working for you? I don't have anywhere to stay; no other job and I want to go to university, so I need to save up for that!"

"You will get to stay in the maids' quarters and eat with them too."

"And you can hang out with Minho in your free time! It won't be so bad." Minho's dad adds.

"What if I disagree?"

"You can't. If you do, you will go to jail."

----

Jisung stared at the bottom of the bed above him. He was in the maids' quarters, trying to sleep on the bottom bunk. Everything had finally come crashing down in his mind. His father was dead. His mother was missing. He was now forced to work for his crushes - no friends - parents to pay off a stupid debt. He didn't know where his friends were or if they even cared about him.

Tears were rolling down his cheeks to the pillow, leaving stains. The worst part, the maids looked at him differently. All of them. They looked at him with judging eyes. They knew how Jisung looked at Minho and and the way Minho looked at Jisung. It hurt, but at least he had one friend. Although his feelings were conflicting, he knew what was right, what he was supposed to do, supposed to be.

At least that's what he hoped.

----

The next morning a bell rang, telling them to get up and start their morning routine. He grabbed his uniform and lined up outside the showers. It was a shared dorm for both the men and woman maids so there were completely separate shower rooms. Three to be exact. The others lining up behind him were whispering.

"Yeah, apparently his father committed suicide."

"It was probably his fault too."

The comments got to Jisung and tears threatened to fall just as he got to the front of the line. He quickly entered one of the rooms. It was rich looking, just like the rest of the house with a shower covered by a shower curtain, a sink and toilet. He emptied his tears while showering, then dried and got dressed, left his towel and clothes in the small storage under his bed and headed to breakfast.

He ate alone. Which he didn't mind but he hated the gossiping and stares. Jisung finished quickly and left towards the white board that would have his list of jobs for the day. The first thing on the list was to clean up the main kitchen from the breakfast that the main family had. He starts cleaning the dishes and daydreaming to pass the time.

"Hey." He looks up and immediately smiles,

"Minho!" He also smiles and hugs Jisung.

"How was your night?" Jisungs smile falters remembering the mean comments and looks but quickly regains his facade.

"Good, the room is spacious, and the showers are nice!" Minho notices him falter but pretends he doesn't.

"That's good! We should hang out when you are done in the garden, I want to show you around." Jisung nods and with that, he turns around and leaves. He turns back and keeps washing the dishes. What are the other maids going to think? They'll think I'm getting special treatment! There are already so many rumours.

He finishes up and heads through the hallways. He only had half an hour before he had to wipe the stair railings so he hoped Minho wouldn't take too long. He opened the glass door to the back and stepped outside, spotting the older on the grass near the pond. Jisung walks over to him and sat down close enough that their knees touch. Minho turns and looks at him, smiling,

"What do you think?" He gestures to the pond and trees.

"It's really beautiful. It kind of reminds me of the park." He smiled, remembering the fond memories of his favourite place.

"That's good because I designed it to look like that." Jisung snaps his head in surprise to Minho,

"You designed this!" The older nodded with a smug look plastered on his face. They both forgot about the tour and just sat there, smiling and laughing, talking about anything and everything. Eventually, the 30 minutes of freedom were up, and the younger boy had to leave.

"I wish I didn't have to go." He says getting up.

"I wish you didn't have to work for us. You could just live here, and we could hang out all day." Minho says, smiling sadly.

"I know, but I have to clean your long ass banisters!" They both laughed a little sadly as Jisung walked away, back towards the house.

----

I hid behind the tree so they couldn't see me. Snapping pictures on my secret phone of them. They looked so happy together, like they were dating, but not for long. The rest were going to love these photos and once I get rid of Jisung, Minho will be all mine.
