CHAPTER 2 : Dim lights

When I was in my elementary days, I prayed to God to make me grow faster. Thinking that my life would at least be steady and at peace. Having my dream job achieved and to graduate with such honors. But then, reminiscing those days is making me regret what I've prayed for. Being with a job is not really the answer for the difficulty of your life, it was just added.

Like in my situation right now, two days had passed and all I did was to offer assistance and support. Yet, none of them seems to like it when I try to approach them. If not being disgusted, they throw hurtful words and making me feel embarrassed in the middle of the office.

"Tasha, you busy?"

In my most time here, I was checking all the emails especially with the upcoming huge project. They needed all the drafts to be submitted which will be used in building the grandeur hotels and its furnitures.

All the architects and engineers were divided based on their expertise. However, those who were assigned in designing the exterior seems to have a bit of issue starting. They've been busy brainstorming in each hour passed.

The clients doesn't have any specifics with their choices and yet, I can't see them drafting.

Should I give them ideas?

"Hindi naman, bakit?" sagot ko sa tanong ni Pam.

She'll be the architect for furnitures,  two of them to be exact.

"You know, I've been thinking about something lately," sabi niya at nangalumbaba pa sa lamesa.

"Tungkol saan?" I then started to think about suggestions regarding the designs.

"Tungkol doon sa bagong client natin,"

I stiffened at her unpredicted response. Hearing about it is somehow making me feel tensed and cramped with feelings in which I couldn't understand.

"What about them, architect?" I looked away. I don't want her to see how uncomfortable I am right now.

"You know," pagpapatuloy niya, "Last night, I tried to search them online. Their businesses and whatnot or even their family. But guess what, Tasha?"

Suddenly, the anticipation is killing me.

"What?"

"Nothing came up," she sounded disappointed. Lumabas pa ang malalim na dimples niya. "Walang balita, walang history of success or kahit ano, not even in hotels or what. I'm starting to think that they're some kind of a scam, trying to make use of the firm. Baka nga hindi pa totoong pangalan ang gamit nila. Pero impossible naman 'yon? They paid the company in full, eh."

What she said had me in deep thought.

She's right, it's really impossible for a client to not have any background. Especially if you're filthy rich and billions fly over your hands? Doesn't make sense at all. But then, who am I to judge? There are people across the world, billionaires who prefer privacy rather than popularity. And maybe, they're one of them?

If anything happens anyway, this will not be on us. This will be on the company.

I just shrugged my shoulders while looking at my laptop. "Stop thinking about it, Pam. Just think about the drafts you'll be making."

"Ugh, I need a break for drawing. Hindi ko lang talaga matanggal sa isip ko 'yung kliyente natin. He's fucking handsome! Like, super out of the world iyong ka-gwapuhan niya, Tash! Nakita mo ba 'yon? Imagine if you have someone like that in bed, hinding-hindi na talaga ako tatayo kahit kailan," tumango-tango pa siya habang sinasabi iyon.
