Zoro's life so far kinda revolved around pursuing his dream of being the word's greatest swordsman. But now it seemed like his part-time job was suffering heart attacks every goddamn 5 minutes. He was sitting up in the crow's nest, his breathing erratic. Zoro had escaped all that stress, the stress of the whole crew seeing the strong, confident swordsman breaking down. What made all of it worse was the fact that nobody knew he was attracted to men. They would find it weird, wouldn't they? Or would the crew understand? God, the problems just kept adding up. Nobody even knew Zoro cared about Sanji! They even tried to kill each other every hour.
Zoro grasped his arm hard. Zoro's emotions changed from conflicted to murderous. Zoro slammed his arm against the wall, "Stupid..." he muttered. Zoro really didn't want to go back down there. He really cried in front of everyone on the ship. He never even knew he was capable of such a scene. How would he guess that he would react that way?! He was starting to hate himself more and more by the hour.
After contemplating his entire life choices for about an hour, still not knowing what to do, mind you, Luffy climbed his ass up to the crow's nest. "Zoro, you in here?" He called, straw hat barely visible from the ladder. "Yeah, I'm in here." Zoro mumbled, lifting his gaze from Luffy's hat to the ceiling. "What do you want," He continued, "To remind me of the bitchy situation I'm in?" Luffy popped his head up, a blank expression on his face, "No, that would be mean. I'm just doing what a captain should do." Zoro let out an exasperated gasp, "And what's that, huh, tell me?!" Zoro said sarcastically, not expecting an answer. Luffy slowly up and stood in front of Zoro, "As a captain," he started to say after a period of silence, "I have to make sure my crew is okay, that involves checking up on them."
Zoro didn't say anything he just looked down, ashamed for thinking Luffy hadn't thought his actions through. He was a dedicated and loving captain to just about anyone, even to the crew when they acted up. "Look, Luffy-" "You're not the only one who cried." Luffy continued, "Nami's crying with Chopper and Ussop. They got there first when they heard you yell, so they thought Sanji died." The word 'died' stung Zoro deep inside. He hated the idea of death, and all the pain it brought with it. "Zoro, cry if you have to. Nobody's going to judge you."
Zoro instantly started to do just that. The tears came so naturally as if he was hardwired to cry. "I- I just feel so h-helpless, I can't even h-help him," he stuttered, voice cracking as the air left his lungs. Luffy sat next to him against the wall, a smiled plastered on his face, eyes watery, "He's not dead, I wouldn't let him die on us."
