I grew up wondering why my family didn't want me. Why they never came to look for me. Maybe they forgot about my existence. I didn't know much about them. All I knew was that my mother gave me up for adoption when I was born and that I had a brother named Brian O'Conner. I knew nothing of my father, and could care less. Word around the block was that he got my mom pregnant and just disappeared. Typical.
When I was about 8 years old, I found out that I had a brother and I became obsessed. As soon as I was old enough, I started to investigate like crazy. I would ask questions at the orphanage that I stayed at. I knew that I was annoying the hell out of the staff, but I needed to something, anything. Eventually, someone from the staff said they came across a picture in my file. Apparently my mom had left it with the orphanage before she left me in their hands. I never found out why, but I had finally got my hands on a picture of my family. Of course I was missing from the family portrait, but at that moment I was actually happy. I didn't care that I wasn't featured. Maybe I wasn't even thought of yet. I knew what everyone looked like and I was taking in every detail. My brother has blonde hair and blue eyes, just like our deadbeat dad. Our mother's features were the complete opposite. She was tan with brown hair and hazel eyes. I realized that I had inherited my mom's brown hair, naturally tan skin and hazel eyes. There was one feature that struck me the most about her... She had such a kind face, one that Brian also shared. One that I yearned to see. I remember that at that moment I knew I had to find him. I wanted a family and to feel loved. Finding Brian was my only hope.
