"So now you have roommates?"

Noel and Laurent carried on with their conversation, Laurent feeding into Noel's dramatics so he could continue enjoying his live-action melodrama, feeling as though her situation wasn't serious in the slightest.

"Yes! And I'm pretty sure they think I'm a snotty bitch," Noel sighed, shoving another spoonful of berry goodness in her mouth while she and Laurent walked to a nearby bench that was covered in shade by a tree.

"Well, were you a snotty bitch to them?" One of his thick brows rose in question, causing Noel to wince at her answer.

"Maybe?"

"Oh, come on!" Laurent threw his hands up dramatically, scoffing at her admittance.

"It was a bad moment, okay? I was caught off guard while they were having their weird girl time– I didn't know they were going to be home that fast."

"Wait, tell me this story again, why are you not at your old place?"

"My parents thought that me having a place to myself would be a recipe for disaster, and in turn, make me fall back into old habits. But I sure as hell don't think me living with three random bitches- girls would be any better." Noel huffed, pouting slightly as she chewed on her granola.

"I could understand, you were a crazy one, I'll give them that." Laurent nodded, Noel flicking a blueberry in his direction.

After sitting in silence for a couple of minutes, Noel looked down at the jersey in Laurent's lap, beginning to think of the boy she had laid eyes on not too long ago.

"I didn't know you played football."

"Well, you could've known if you didn't get kicked out."

"Are you not going to let me live that down?" Noel sucked her teeth, leaning back on the bench as Laurent chuckled.

"I'll be telling that story to our grandkids."

"Grandkids?!" Noel choked out a laugh, Laurent's mindless flirting doing nothing but lightening her mood.

"Anyways," Laurent smiled, licking the almond butter on the back of his spoon, "Did you make any friends yet?"

"Fuck no."

"Well, do you at least know your roommates' names?"

"Nope, but I did get a good look at one of them," Noel nodded, proceeding to look into the near distance at the mass amount of students.

"Oh, her," Noel finally caught sight of one of them, "Sitting on the table with the blue top."

"Winter is your roommate?" Laurent's eyes went wide, nodding slowly. "That means Cassie really did leave."
