It was the last class of the day, and you happen to finish your work early so you crack out your book. Only to draw the suspicion of your classmate, Dan Heng.

"What are you reading?" He asks as his curious eyes peak over to the cover of your book.

"Uhhh...." I stammer as I suddenly grow nervous and try to hide the cover. What would he think if he knew I read sappy romance novels?...

"Why do you hesitate, are you reading porn in public?" He suddenly snaps me out my thoughts. Classic, Dan Heng to overthink.

"No-No." I stutter all embarrassed.
"It's just a silly little romance novel." I say in deference. Dan Heng still looks suspicious. I sigh and show him the the cover.
"Once Upon A Broken Heart, by Stephanie Garber." Dan Heng looks very amused, still very emotionless like usual. 

"I think, I've seen it on the internet. Do you like it?" He asks. I sigh.

"Not really. But, I'm going to finish it before judging." Dan Heng seems amused by my answer and smiles softly.

"I really like the persistence about you, always seeing things through to the end." He says softly and my face suddenly feels warm.

"It's just a book. I'd hate to put it on DNFR, when I hear it's really good." I say in defense. He chuckles.

"Again. Persistence. I would just leave it, if I didn't like it. You stick with. Almost... Showing loyalty to paper."

Well, Dan Heng probably had no idea about book boyfriends...

"Thanks." I say awkwardly hoping to soothe things over.

A camera flashes my direction. I turn and see March and Stelle being girlfriends together and giggling over a photo.

"What are you looking at?" I pitch in. March chuckles then says teasingly.

"Have you ever thought about how cute of a couple you would make with Dan Heng? He's very comfortable around you." Stelle smiles and nods in agreement. She adds in.

"You should go out with him."

My face grows warmer by the minute as they keep teasing. Through the corner of my eye I could see Dan Heng smiling to himself behind a book of his own.

The bell then rings and everyone gets ready to leave. We brush it off and get ready. My eyes occasionally catch glances of Dan Heng fixing his jacket or cleaning his desk.

I smile. And glance back at the wrong time and he catches me smiling. No babe, look away. You weren't supposed to see me!

Dan Heng smiles back then puts his backpack on his back before turning his attention to March giggling with Stelle over something.
